What you'll do

'A city tour with whiskey in it's heart' . Whiskey Guide accompanies you throughout, non-repetitive visits to each whiskey stop included. Our meeting point is James Fox Cigar and Whiskey Store at 1:45pm, very centrally located in downtown Dublin. Just upstairs we have the Irish Whiskey Museum, a very fitting introduction to Irish Whiskey. We join a scheduled tour here and you will enjoy the captivating anecdotes of talented story tellers as they take you on a journey through the ages revealing the origins of Irish whiskey, its rise to glory, dramatic downfall and current global revival. Tasting of 3 Irish whiskeys follows in the bar at the end of tour. We board our executive transport nearby and you can sit back and soak up the magic of Dublin as your guide brings Dublin to life. We travel to the original home of Jameson Irish Whiskey where we have a very special tasting lined up for you in their maturation warehouse onsite. Next we take you to Roe & Co working distillery in the city, another historical distilling giant of Dublin. Here you’ll have the chance to see, smell, hear and experience an actual operational distillery. You'll sample their whiskey and you'll take part in a whiskey cocktail workshop. Our coach takes us back to downtown Dublin and we finish at the Celtic Whiskey Shop for a tasting of two premium Irish whiskeys with one of the store’s whiskey ambassadors.

My Dad and I share the same the name, John Callely. We share the same pride of country and we have a particular grá (Gaelic for love) for Irish whiskey tourism, an industry that has been good to us over our combined 40 years’ experience. We’re glad to say our name is synonymous with premium whiskey experiences in Irish tourism circles, so much so that we formed Whiskey Island to share these experiences with Airbnb guests. Be our guest, and John Junior or John Senior (depending on which one of us is available) will bring the onetime whiskey-making capital of the world to life!

John is simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, the only thing that equals John's talent and passion is the great taste of Irish Whiskey itself, this tour gives you the most complete and rounded overview of Dublin's whiskey industry while giving you just enough historical and cultural background to leave you craving for more and enjoy Dublin even more afterwards. I used to be a tour guide myself and I am still amazed a week later by John's casual and passionate approach, he simply strikes the perfect balance and acts like the perfect "chef d'orchestre" to the numerous places and guided activity we had on the tour. This is not you usual boring tour, this is a severely under-priced VIP experience trough and through TL;DR: This tour is great and the price could be double what it is and it would still be worth it!
