What you'll do

Join us for Goat Happy Hour at Loma Miramar. We're a 9-acre ranch situated on the top of Mount Madonna in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Goat Happy Hour is a trademarked term meaning goat therapy. It is all about getting outdoors in a beautiful setting, surrounding yourself with therapy animals and disconnecting from stress. From the parking area, you will hike down from the ridgeline along our fire road with stunning views to gather at the Goat Happy Hour spot, called the "Yogarden". We start out with an introduction of all the animals and safety tips for a great experience. The Yogarden sits on the side of the mountain above our home with 270 degree views of the redwood forests, distant mountains and the Pacific Ocean below. The scenery is stunning in every direction. You will go for a slow hike up and down the fire road with the goats, watching them peacefully and joyfully grazing. Then you will return to the Yogarden. After that, I leave you alone to soak in the goat therapy. This experience is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and you will leave happy! If you're looking for an experience that is good for your mental health, this is it! Get outdoors, surround yourself with loving, adorable therapy animals and disconnect from the stress.

Lucie has been hosting Goat Happy Hour since 2018 and has been featured in media outlets nationally and internationally. She has had the pleasure of working with the likes of Gordan Ramsey, Giant Stadium and the U.S. Open. She has held classes for some of the largest corporations in the world including Facebook, Google and the Fairmont Hotels. Her very first travel event was for Airbnb Corporate in SF!

Lucie has had a love affair with goats throughout her life. She lives at her ranch on Mount Madonna with her husband. Their days start and end with the goats. The goats play a critical role at the ranch, feasting on fire abatement cuttings, and restoring the soil with their excellent fertilizer. Besides their functional role, their goats also help life make sense. After an hour of goat time, the deepest stress melts away!

The goats were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Our host, Lil, was great and informative. We got to feed them, and groom them. What surprised us the most was the different personalities between the goats and we loved interacting with the different personalities! BEWARE: The road up the farm will have no signal. You'll come across dirt path and Private Road signs. If you are, don't worry. You're on the RIGHT PATH.

What a fun family experience! Our group ranged in age from 12 to 76 and the goat adventure was enjoyed by all - especially my Mom and niece who watch goat videos every week! Lucie’s advance communication was excellent, as was the introduction with Lucie and her colleagues. It was nice to have family time with the goats. Tips for visitors - bring sunscreen and bug spray, get your car washed after the event, not before. Bring water, and be prepared for a steep uphill walk back to your car - make sure to wear shoes good for the short walk and that you don’t mind getting dirty or chewed on. The goats have personality, enjoy your time with them - we sure did!
