What you'll do

Austin is one the best places to explore on two wheels. Our bike friendly city has endless connecting routes, and tons of great views! We will start downtown Austin, and work our way throughout the city. Stops include Barton Springs, Lady bird lake trail, our Capitol, and more!

We'll be stopping at one of our oldest bbq joints in Austin. Located in our historic district, they first opened doors in 1943. The bbq is to die for, and smoked on the original pit. They're only open a couple hours a day, and sell out fast. Don't forget we will be on bikes, and there's no other way to enjoy Austin!

For the last 9 years, I've had the opportunity to guide experiences around the world. I am a Texan native, and grew up on the southern border. After studying business, I found myself with an itch to travel. I now have a tour agency in Austin, Frontera Tours, and I love showing off the city. There's so much sightseeing, and tons of history. On my free time I find myself cycling around the city, exploring and eating.

Where you'll be

Barton Springs has always been an important piece of Austin's history. Before the Spanish conquistadors arrived, the spring was considered sacred to the Tonkawa Native Americans.

Ross is so genuinely understanding, caring, and knowledgeable about Austin. As somewhat of a novice bike-rider, I was a tiny bit apprehensive about keeping up. Ross made sure to make adjustments to my bike and helmet to ensure my safety and comfort, check on me periodically to make sure I was behind him, and give encouraging praise that made me feel so cared for. He was also extremely prepared for this event. When my boyfriend and I arrived at our meeting point, Ross already had bikes, helmets, and water bottles ready to go. The tour around Barton Springs and the historic downtown area was serene, beautiful, and calming, with occasional breaks during which Ross shared his knowledge about Austin's history and answered our questions about the area. The barbecue place is an absolute institution - if there was a way to ship the food home, I would. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this experience. Highly recommend!

A great introductory bike tour of Austin. A great way to learn the layout of the land and get an overview of the city and its history. Ross was friendly and the BBQ stop was delicious

A fun, interactive, and hassle-free way to explore a new city, I cannot recommend bike tours enough! Ross is a fantastic guide whose knowledge of the city is apparent on this tour as he takes you through points of interest in Austin both mainstream and quirky. You also get a meal to boot, so what's not to like?

Loved this. The BBQ was yummy! Ross took us to the main hotspots of Austin and it really helped get my bearings of the city for the rest of my stay. Ross was also super friendly and made an effort with the whole group.
