I am known as the GPS of wetlands in my cycling fraternity, being a nature lover and living practically just next to it gave me the opportunity to ride and share my experience with those looking for a Kolkata never seen. I think 90 percent of locals have not been here and look forward to them as they form a good percentage of customers

Fantastic experience of Kolkata wetlands on a bicycle !
Shirish is a great knowledgeable host.
The wetlands ride was awesome. I recommend going to see the beautiful sunrise (morning) or sunset (afternoon slot) on the wetlands. I went for the afternoon slot. Shirish explains the history, and how the wetlands feed into the Kolkata daily lives.
This was a unique experience in Kolkata for me, which no other tour operator can show you.
Thanks Shirish for organizing these trips, and showing the hidden side of beautiful Kolkata to people.

This was one of the highlights of my weekend trip to Kolkata. It's a bit outside of downtown but an amazing way to see a different side of the city- learning about the fishing practices and local lifestyle. The wetlands at sunset were simply stunning. Shirish supplies everything you need (helmet, helmet head cover, bike and biking gloves) and is the perfect guide to navigate you through the short road ride to the wetlands and then through the maze of small footpaths via bike. He truly is the GPS of the wetlands and passionate in offering this experience. Three hours was the right amount of time to not feel rushed and get to see so many beautiful views. I'd strongly recommend for anyone who loves biking and/or just wants to explore a different experience in Kolkata.

This is probably the most unique experience that one can have. How many people come all this way to see a quazi-nature reserve right next door to the city. I was once a fisheries research officer so I was intrigued to talk to the fisherman, the traders and the fish traders and learn that they these fields yielded approximately 5 to 6 tonnes of fish per year. I was also intrigued to know that this is, in fact, Kolkota's biological way of dealing with its liquid waste and Shirish was very clear in how the sequence of agricultural and aquacultural events takes place. I was also particularly interested to learn about the struggle to keep this area of wetland, a Ramsa site, and this area is so important in preventing the flooding

Shirish's tour was absolutely superb! The wetlands were like an entirely different place to Kolkata itself, and I felt I was the only tourist lucky enough to visit there! Shirish provided well equipped and set up mountain bikes, and provided thoughtful details like a clean Buff, helmet and cycle mitts for us to use.
Shirish describes himself as a human GPS system for the wetlands, and he seemed to know every twist and turn of the paths and tracks, and adapted our route to avoid the muddy paths following rain. He is also on nodding terms with so many of the wetlands locals, meaning I had full confidence that we were in safe hands.
All in all I'd recommend this trip, without hesitation, to anyone who loves getting off the beaten track on two wheels - it was brilliant!
