What you'll do

We meet on the iconic Royal Mile by the eminent Scottish thinker and drinker Adam Smith. It is then a short walk to one excellent whisky bar that we use. We have the entire upstairs area reserved for us, ensuring lots of space for the group. During the course of two hours we will sample four outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from the four major whisky producing regions of Scotland. We will discus some of the history of Scotland and explore the reasons as to why whisky is now so ingrained as a staple of Scottish culture and we have some great tales from Scotland and the world of whisky to share with you.
Other things to note
This tour departs promptly and we can not wait for guests who are late. You must meet us at our start point at least 15min before the tour departs to secure your space.

People under the age of 18 are not permitted on this tour. This is due to licencing at the venue we use.

Whisky is the spirit of Scotland. Whisky is about the coming together of people, whether it be sharing a warming dram on a long winters night or celebrating with a wee dram at a wedding. Both Luca and I work as guides in Edinburgh and set up Little Fish Tours back in 2016. We are all about bringing people together and showing them not just the best sites of Edinburgh but also sharing a little in the culture of Scotland. What better way to immerse yourself in Scottish culture than to sit down with a local and share a whisky or four whilst listening to some great Scottish tales?

Where you'll be

Our regular venue is the enchanting Waverley Bar, something of an institution in Edinburgh and is famous within the folk music scene. The entire upper floor of the bar is reserved for us, giving us plenty of space and privacy for our story orientated evening. This is our usual space but particularly during peak seasons we have several back up venues. Regardless of the venue the most important part of this tour is sharing good whisky and stories.

Ben was our guide for this experience and I must say, he was fantastic! We started with a quick walk to the Waverly pub, beautiful and historically rich! The group sat down as strangers but that certainly didn't last long. Ben brought the group together with his quick wit, the lure of folktales and, of course, the whiskey! You could really sense a passion for his work as he told the tales and his love of whiskey with each glass he presented. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a fantastic experience of whiskey tasting, the history of whiskey, great story telling and just a friendly atmosphere to relax in.

Fantastic experience. Tried four different whiskeys, and talked about them, their flavours, smells and tastes etc. This was intertwined with some old traditional storytelling about the history of whiskey and also some general tales/fables which are still relevant around Edinburgh today. Really enjoyed the evening.
