What you'll do

When you go to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair! Especially if you are going to the Deyoung Museum to see the Frida Kahlo exhibition. But come to Oakland first and make a floral crown headdress.

In just two hours, using only a glue gun, you will leave with "wearable art" a headpiece that you can wear over and over again.

We provide a carefully curated selection of faux flowers for your headdress - so it will last for years. We also have shells, pearls, butterflies, feathers, ribbons, and things that sparkle.

If flowers aren't your thing you can make a zip tie halo crowns seen at the 2018 Met Gala.

No previous crafting experience necessary. Our instructor has lots of tricks and tips to make the design process easy and fun.

This class takes place in the showroom of Mannequin Madness - where we have lots of mannequin heads for you to use as your canvas.

Light snacks and beverages provided.

If you want to book a private group (minimum or 6) let us know. Private groups have the option of selecting another day and time if they don't want Sunday afternoon. And if you want to turn the event into a potluck or catered event, we have a full kitchen on the premises

As the owner of the only mannequin company in the Bay Area we are involved in a variety of creative projects involving a mannequin.

For this project, mannequin heads are used as a canvas to create the headdress of your choice. We've been making them for retail clients, now we can show you how to make yours in just 2 hours.

I have a staff of five talented freelance artists and designers who rotate co-facilitating the class with me. Each are skilled in making headdresses and can provide tips and tricks to make it easy for you to create the design that you want.

Where you'll be

This class is held inside the Mannequin Madness showroom which is 3200 square feet. There is plenty of room for you to social distance while making your headdress. We put only one person per workstation instead of 2 people per workstation like we did pre-Covid19

The space is wheelchair accessible, but the bathroom is not. However the restaurant across the street will let us use their facilities.

"Because I have chronic health issues, I have difficulty walking/standing, arthritic pain in my hands and feet, and overall muscle weakness. However, none of my disabilities kept me from fully participating in the headdress workshop. Getting in/out of the venue was easy, even with my wheelchair. Parking was also wheelchair accessible. Except for selecting my materials, I sat the entire time. I loved that it equalized me among my friends so that we were free to participate, encourage one another, have fun and share the experience together. Many other group activities can make me feel "different, " not equal or excluded altogether. And my headdress came out fabulous!" --Jacqui

What a lovely time we had at Judi's floral headdress making party! I reached out to Judi to see if she was available on a specific date and she glady accepted my request to do a private bachlorette party! Judi and her partner were so excited to host us 6 gals and it truly felt like a special experience. The vibe, the music, the drinks and snacks hit the spot and last, but definitely NOT least . . . the amazing head dress pieces we all made!!! We rocked them on the town that night and got so many compliments. I highly recommend this experience !
