What you'll do

Garden of the Gods is one of the top city parks in the nation with 5 million visitors last year! Avoid the swarm of visitors, see more wildlife, and avoid heat of the day on this beautiful early morning hike through the Garden. We will begin the hike by admiring the stunning red rocks and learning about the local history, wildlife, and vegetation in the central gardens. We will then hike to less traversed trails that offer spectacular views of Pikes Peak and the front range of the Rockies. We will end with a birds eye view of the park before winding our way back down to our starting point. The total distance of the hike will be 4 miles on moderate terrain trails with a 250 foot increase in elevation. Throughout the tour we will witness beautiful rock formations and will be on the look out for Rocky Mountain wildlife. Be prepared to take many photos!

Where you'll be

Our hike will begin by admiring the beautiful red rock formations (including kissing camels), identifying unique vegetation and wildlife, and learning about the park's rich history. We will then travel off the beaten path to my favorite rock formation, Siamese Twins, that has a beautiful backdrop of Pikes Peak. Next, we will climb to experience a birds eye view of the park before finally winding our way back to the main parking lot.

Elise was wonderful as a tour guide and a person. Right from the start, she asked what I wanted to get out of the tour and focused on that. She was warm and friendly, and took breaks when i needed them. I’m so happy for this experience and to learn much more of the landscape and geography of the Garden of the Gods and of Colorado! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Austin was so knowledgeable about the history, the wildlife, the special spots to take the best pictures. We got so much more out of our experience with his guidance and HIGHLY recommend this experience!

Elise was a wonderful guide, she has a bubnby personality that keeps the information she shares on the location feeling exciting. Her knowledge on the area and the animals was also very good. I left with great pictures, memories and knowledge!

Amazing experience! Elise was out your guide and she was so friendly and informative. She took SO MANY AMAZING PICTURES of us, which was great because most of our pictures of the two of us up to that point were selfies. She knew the exact spots to take photos. Elise will tweak the tour to personalize what you want out of the experience, whether it be details about local vegetation and wildlife or if you just want to get a good hike in! Would definitely suggest you do this if your visiting Colorado Springs

Elise is a pro. I came to Colorado with my fiancé for vacation and I got altitude sickness the day before our hike. She was so understanding and was able to let us reschedule. Thank you Elise! Our hike was very educational and the sights were beautiful. She knows plants, animals, and everything in the ecosystem. She even offered to take pictures of us and they were excellent. I highly recccomend taking hike with her. She was so personable and friendly and was keen on ensuring our expectations were met during and after the hike. This really enhanced our vacation and view of the natural part of Colorado! Five stars!!
