What you'll do
Experience the "Txotx!" ritual, taste natural Basque cider and take a trip back to our origins!
Would you like to enjoy a cider house but you don’t know how to get to one? This tour is the solution. We will pick you up in San Sebastian so that you can learn, with the help of our guide, the secrets of this thousand-year-old drink very closely linked to the Basque Country and its culture and gastronomy. You will visit the apple orchards, the farmhouse presses/stores, the cider-making areas, the cellars and, naturally, you will taste natural home-made cider as we Basques make it: in the bottle and through the ritual called "Txotx".
¡Txoootx! is a call to taste Natural Cider directly from the barrels while you enjoy a Traditional Cider House Menu. Through the Ritual of "Txotx" you will taste cider from different barrels in the cellars of our cider houses while you enjoy a traditional cider house menu. Afterwards, we will return to San Sebastian so you can carry on enjoying our land.
Other things to note
We are 4 woman workers at the company. and the guide is Izaskun.
In case she can’t be there, the guides will be: Amaia, Olatz or Alazne.
A sweater because it’s cool in the cellars.

Everyone tells their story based on what they know. We tell the history of the Basque Country with Basque natural cider as the central core idea; millennial and ancestral product, drink of our sailors and main motif of our landscape. The cider is also the creator of the Basque lagar farms, old factories built to produce large quantities of cider artisanally. We are proud of our roots and want to tell you so that we can enjoy our experience together.
Where you'll be
Our guide will meet you at this address: number 2, Bengoetxea street in Donostia-San Sebastian. We will visit one of our Cider Houses for a short tour into the orchard and other parts of it. This visit will be livened up by a cider tasting session, both from the bottle and from the barrels. Afterwards, we will enjoy a traditional Cider House menu.
We had a very special evening learning about traditional cider production and enjoying a first class 5 course meal whilst tasting cider direct from the barrels with the locals. Amaia was lovely, friendly and knowledgeable. The venue was large enough that 'social distancing' was easy and we felt very safe. We thoroughly recommend this experience.

This tour was really great! I don’t often go on organized tours but I’m traveling solo right now so sprung for it. Izaskun was super knowledgeable about the cidery and told us all sorts of information about the area and culture. The food was top notch too! I’d highly recommend her as a guide!
