What you'll do

We will walk a beautiful 6-mile section of this, England's longest National Trail, gently rising over clifftops and passing rocky coves, sandy beaches and the exquisite little harbour of Polkerris. There's a wealth of wildlife to spot, literary connections to make, a castle and lots more.
We start with a short bus trip (NB on Bank Holidays a cross country walking route to Polkerris will be substituted) then begin our hike at Polmear where there are soon expansive views over St Austell Bay to our south and west. Rounding the tip of Gribben Head, marked by a "daymark" tower which is visible for miles (CEREAL BAR provided here, included in experience), we get our first sighting of our destination - the natural estuary harbour of Fowey. The path clings closely to the edge of low cliffs and drops to cross several small streams, bringing us to St Catherine's Point and castle, before we make our way through part of the pretty town and an optional teashop stop for lunch or a cream tea (not included in Experience price).
Fairly easy walking means you arrive into the stunning harbour town of Fowey, ready to enjoy the picturesque boating scene and the rest of your day.
Other things to note
You will be walking in a fairly remote area on footpaths with a variety of terrain and weather. Please read the "what to bring" section carefully. Toilets only in Polkerris (1 hour out) and Fowey.

This was a brilliant experience. We chose it because of the wonderful photo of the countryside advertising it and it didn't disappoint. Lucy was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about everything to do with the South West coastal path, from flora and fauna to local history. She was also sensitive and sympathetic when I became tired and slowed the pace to fit my abilities, qnd even showed us where to find the best cream tea in Fowey at the end! Many thanks, Lucy!

An excellent experience Lucy was very knowledgeable about the area. Although she was the guide we were allowed to take the lead so the walk was done at our pace although we we stopped at certain points to be shown points of interest the the wonderful views. would definitely do this again. I would highly recommend it.

I enjoyed our walk from Polmear to Fowey, Lucy's attentive guiding and our conversation. Lucy gave an interesting commentary on the area, it's history, flora and fauna as appropriate. The walk was not hurried, giving time to appreciate the views and natural activity around. Thank you Lucy.
