What you'll do

Let's make sushi! Join chef Nicholas Tran & chef/ sake lover Lala Ziemski for a two hour experience that will be as delicious as it is educational & fun.

First, The two hour session begins a history lesson on sushi traditions and a discussion on what to look for when buying the freshest fish for your sushi.
Second, we roll up our sleeves to make sushi! This hands on experience will teach you how to professionally make maki (rolls), temaki (hand rolls), nigiri AND proper sashimi cutting technique. You will make it all yourself under our guidance. Don’t worry, you will be eating as you learn!
With years of experience in sushi and having worked in several upscale Japanese restaurants, Nicholas, (currently of Gramercy Tavern and formerly of Masa & 3 Michelin star Quince) will guide you through all you need to know to impress your friends with your new skills. After the two hour session, we know you will leave feeling empowered & accomplished to try it on your own. Enjoy your new skill!

Class replaces dinner and includes the freshest fish we find at the market that morning.

My boyfriend got me this as a birthday present and we were very excited about it. We had no clue just how special the evening would have turned out to be. We learned history and facts about sake and sushi, and learned how to make multiple sushi rolls. Lala and Nick really went above and beyond to make this a well rounded, high quality, personal experience. We had such a fantastic time and can’t wait to tell all of our friends about it.

The sushi making experience with Lala and Nick exceeded our expectations. We walked away feeling extremely knowledgeable about the origin of sushi, and even more confident that we can host our friends for a sushi night. Thank you so much, Lala and Nick, for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back for another experience.
