Topanga Labyrinth Full Moon Ceremony

Topanga, California, United States

What you'll do

The moon is usually bright enough to cast clear shadows on the ground. I prefer to walk without artificial lighting, so if you need a light, red lights are preferred. We will meet by the main road, then caravan or carpool up to the trail head.

We will walk to a beautiful sandstone Labyrinth overlooking the Pacific Ocean. (Some uphill walking, though not very steep.) Once there we will do ceremony. You will learn a Native healing song and be invited to pour any troubles you may be carrying into the Earth.

You may also walk the Labyrinth, enjoy the peacefulness or simply sit on the edge of the world and gaze at the ocean (and sometimes fluffy cloud layer) below you. All participation is welcome and none is required.

I will bring a frame drum and offer a song or two. Additional acoustic instruments are welcome.

The Labyrinth provides a powerful way to release what ails you, receive what you need, and return to the world with your gift.

Many blessings. See you soon.

Other things to note:

This is a two-hour outdoor walking event in Nature, so dress accordingly. Topanga is home to native wildlife. If we're quiet on the trail, sightings may include deer, coyotes, bats and owls.

Team-building:
Ceremony is great for teams and groups who want trust-building experiences, as folks participate together, yet with full autonomy and choice.

What I bring: some Native American in my blood, a bit of training in South American shamanic practice, a decade or so in Native prayer lodges, and a whole lot of love for the Land. I've lived in the Santa Monica Mountains for thirty years. Much of my inspiration comes from walking the trails and listening. Connecting with the Earth and the elements in a meaningful way is profound. Relating with Nature can help you connect more deeply to your heart, your truth, and your self, the beginning of all real connection.

I have been on many different types of spiritual explorations, and Sage is the real deal. She skillfully weaves together ritual and storytelling regarding the significance of the full moon and the labyrinth. A huge bonus are the incredible views of the ocean and the city below. The peak experience of my recent visit to LA. Highly recommend!

To be honest I didn't quite know what to expect. I read the reviews, I liked the reviews, I had a general idea but I had no clue how amazing it would be. But I'm so glad I followed my heart and booked this. This experience is indescribable, but let me try ;). We drove up together and gathered in a circle to leave the real world behind for a moment. And boy, we did. Sage is incredible and the real deal. She is the kindest energy and tells stories in such a natural way, it's amazing. Everything just flows. So on the hike up, Sage invited us to think of a question we want some clarity about. We walked to the top in silence and it was exactly what I needed. Except for a whispered 'woooah' when I saw the view when the sunset turned everything into gold. Next thing you arrive at the top and the whole experience just feels magical in an instant. The magnificent views, the on-top-of-the-world feeling and the kind people surrounding you, together with Sage gently preparing everything for the ceremony and the sun setting. Magical is the only word that I can think of. Sage explains everything very clearly, not that it's crazy heavy or something but she shares her stories and next thing we go quiet again and it all feels so natural. We start walking the labyrinth and just like Sage predicted, you always get what you need. It's wonderful, it's unexpected, it's so inexplicable and amazing. There's the drumming, there's the being there together with these wonderful people you don't know at the beginning but feel like you've known them for 20 years after 2 hours and it's so touching to connect with yourself and other people. Also, we had a crazy night where we could both see the sun and the moon at the same time and by the end, the moon literally lighted our path and the view was stunning with all the lights and .. you know I could ramble about this forever, so I'm gonna stop :) But.. So if you just skipped to the ending, please, do yourself a favour and give yourself this wonderful, touching experience. And Sage, thank you so so much for everything, it was incredible.

If you want the quintessential spiritual Topanga nature experience, I highly recommend a trip up the hillside. Sage, acting as an experienced and thoughtful guide, makes this trip so special for her groups. Speaking for myself, I kept an open mind during the ceremony, and absolutely felt a blessed, revelatory sensation during the experience. Highly recommend!

What a magical experience this was! Ideally suited for those looking for a "spiritual reset", but equally perfect for anyone seeking to explore the land in a deeper, more mindful way. The group had the opportunity to interact during the initial portion of the hike and was invited to walk in silent contemplation during the final ascent. Wise woman, Sage, was a soulful, gentle and empathetic facilitator who lovingly held space and drummed as each participant walked the labyrinth towards their higher self... Beautiful and touching experience that I will not forget. I left feeling entirely renewed and grounded - exactly what I needed. I highly recommend.

The Full Moon Labyrinth Hike with Sage was a magical experience for my whole family. Sage did a wonderful job of setting the stage for our experience together and we all had a wonderful time! I highly recommend this adventure for something "different" to do when you are on vacation!
