What you'll do
I will take you on a 2-hour walk around the city. Don't worry, you won't have to walk all 2 hours, stories and history are taking up the bigger portion of the tour.
There are lots of cities in Europe, where you can simply get off at the train station, walk down the historical centre and just stroll around, admiring unique architecture, watching locals and have a good time. Sadly, Frankfurt is not one of these places, I am not trying to build up suspense :) I know it from experience and from my travellers, who have been to the city before and told me the tour helped a lot! It is a very interesting and historically important place, not just in the German, but in the European history and it's good to have somebody point it out. Otherwise it may stay in your memory as a nice hub with a big airport and a place in Germany where its' not easy to find good beer. Don't worry, I know the places :) I also use lots of before-after pictures to help you understand the city better. Most of it has been lost, sadly, but together we will try to recreate the feeling.
For the technical part, if you have a layover of 4 or more hours, you can make it! It's 15 min from the airport and 16 min back, if necessary I will bring you back to the train station, that will get you to the airport. I have often had this kind of practice and so far no one missed the flight ;)
Other things to note
Feel free to contact me in advance if you have any questions, e.g. short transfer time.
I will respond as soon as possible and be happy to welcome you in Frankfurt!

A traveller with a capital TRA :) that's right, one letter wouldn't be enough! I always take walking tours and pick airbnb experiences because I want to meet actual people living in the city, hear their stories and try to understand what this place is all about, what brings people here, moves people here and what the life here and now is all about. Since 2017 I have been offering city tours in Frankfurt. I am not going to make you fall in love with the city, I will give you all the facts at my disposal and let you decide for yourselves.
I am a professional interpreter and language teacher, who fell in love with history a bit later :) but I am trying hard to learn all I can and nothing gives me more pleasure than sharing what I have learned!

Where you'll be
We'll start at Willi-Brand square, walk to the Alte Oper, one of the main Frankfurt's attractions, then proceeding to Hauptwache, the main city square and finally go to the oldest and most beautiful part of the city- Römerberg. On the way we will also see a medieval tower, several monuments and the birth place of the most famous Frankfurter and German Writer.

Elena was extremely motivated and really made us fall in love with Frankfurt! We had a great time and learned so much beyond what you would learn from a usual tour that we feel everybody should take a walk with her through the city. Thank you so, so much and we wish you the best of luck with your plans!
