What we’ll do

First, Mark E. Sackett the owner, will welcome you to the Pressroom and Mercantile here at The Box SF, where you will step back in time absorbing our recreation of an 1850's General Store and working Letterpress Printing Shop, where our oldest Press dates back to 1838! You'll get to see amazing Design and Advertising History, learn a bit about our historic Printing Presses. Then we'll head to our…

What else you should know

We do not allow food or drink in the Mercantile, due to the rarity of the fixtures and material. We have a freight elevator accessible to all floors so while wheelchairs are welcome, we are not ADA!

What I’ll provide

Private Building Tour $22 includes a one hour private tour of our Historic Pressroom/Mercantile/Speakeasy in this historic 15,000 sq ft building!

What to bring

A way to take unlimited pictures, and feel free to share them with everyone!
We are not fully ADA approved but we have a Freight Elevator to all floors and Bathrooms on all floors but the basement.
Guests are more than welcome to stay after the tour as long as they like, to browse or shop!

Where you'll be

Each of the floors of this unique and historic building are amazing! Everyone of the rooms and floors are furnished with various antiques and our private Wine Cellar and Speakeasy is a unique experience due to the way you enter the room! Our top floor boasts the largest and oldest dining and meeting table in the United States and is made from 335 year old Village Gate Doors from China. Our Mercantile contains rare items from around the world!
