What you'll do

Our rendezvous begins by meeting at one of the beautiful beaches of Amelia Island for a "value-added" life experience; I will share my passion and techniques of hunting and finding fossilized shark teeth. We'll start the experience with intros, then seeing and touching a variety of shark teeth from my personal 10-year collection as well as learning more about the different sharks in our area. Then it is short flat walk, less than 1/4 of mile to the shoreline, where each participant will be given the opportunity to find some playfully planted shark teeth to help with the ability to distinguish the shark teeth by shape, color and sheen within the sand beds. It will then be time to put into practice the new found skills of shark tooth hunting as a group by casually walking the shoreline and shell beds while sharing some history of Amelia Island, Fort Clinch and Cumberland Island. FYI; always wear layers, the winter winds can be surprisingly chilly and for the adventurous, water shoes or shoes that can get wet are a must! Each guest will enter Fort Clinch State Park, there is a $4-$6 entry fee per car for anyone who does not have a Florida State Park pass, this fee is for up to 8 people per car and is valid for the day, leaving and re-entering the park. Each guest will leave not only with a shark tooth, but the hour of learning will provide a lifetime of enjoyment!

I have lived on Amelia Island for over 10 years and have found shark tooth hunting to be one of the most valuable experiences of my life. The beaches and ocean bring joy to my soul and I want to share that passion with others. I hope they too will feel connected with the depths of the ocean and enjoy touching parts of the fiercest creatures that have ever existed. My career background is in instruction & as an artist for the past 10 years, it brings me great joy when I help people have the "Aha" moment. I have personally collected 1000's of shark teeth from the tiniest precious teeth of baby sharks to Megalodon teeth that date back millions of years ago. I am not an expert, however with honor will wear the title "Shark Tooth Enthusiast Extraordinaire". It truly is a spiritual experience that allows my heart to be at peace.

Meeting Nancy and her husband was such a pleasant experience. It is obvious they love doing this and it shows through the experience they create. I highly recommend this to anyone coming to Amelia Island. My husband and daughter mainly went on the shark tooth hunt, but I go to listen to the educational portion before hand and it was so interesting. Then the rest of out trip my husband and daughter kept referencing their time with Nancy and her husband. It was a wonderful addition to our trip.

We Loved Nancy’s passion, expertise, and knowledge. She was a great teacher and was very patient. Nancy was fun loving And an exceptional shark tooth Hunter. We had a blast and found about 30 sharks teeth over two days. We’ve recommended her to several friends and think it would be great for them to take their grandchildren. Well done Nancy thank you.

What a fabulous way to spend an afternoon!! I loved this activity and the fact that I feel like I have a skill that I can use on any beach walk in the future! The mini lesson at the beginning of our walking tour was so helpful and made me enjoy the experience even more when we got out on the beach! But best of all was my host, Nancy! She was amazing, knowledgeable, kind, and fun! This is a wonderful way to experience the beach. I'm leaving with some awesome pictures, some new skills, good memories, and several beautiful little fossilized shark teeth! Don't hesitate to book this fun, unique and educational event...thank me later!!
