Magical Hong Kong sunset walk

Duration:2 hours total
Languages:Offered in Chinese (Traditional) and English

About your host

I design experiences for a bank during the day and moonlight as a plant lady. I moved to Hong Kong 4 years ago to find my roots in this concrete jungle and couldn't stop discovering its secrets since.

What we’ll do

We will travel to the most Instagrammable place in Hong Kong -- go through dirt roads, boulders, overgrown grass and feel like explorers discovering a new land. This hike is perfect for people who want the best view possible for the least amount of physical effort. We'll meet at Tin Hau to take the mini-bus (HKD 5-6) up and start our 20 minute walk to the spot. While waiting for the sunset,…

What else you should know

Weather conditions affect visibility. Rough terrain, climbing up boulders, and walking through overgrown flora. Red/Black Storm 3 hours before - tour will be cancelled and refunded.

What to bring

Hiking shoes, rubber shoes or shoes with a good grip
Flashlight or head light
Camera
Octopus card - we'll take the minibus twice, around HKD 10-12 worth
Optional: Long pants - the area is grassy, you might get leaf-cut
Optional: Walking/hiking stick
Optional: gloves (we will be climbing up rocks and holding on trees for balance)
Optional: Mosquito repellant

Where you'll be

Most guidebooks will tell you to go to the Peak for the best overlooking view of Hong Kong. I disagree. Hong Kong's best kept secret is here on Braemar Hill. From here, you can view both the Hong Kong and Kowloon skylines and the occasional ship passing through Victoria Harbour. We will pass through a hidden road to see this view and go down at nightfall. It will be quite dark down so be careful not to get lost!
