What you'll do
We'll meet at Federation Square and begin with some fun activities to get to know everyone before exploring Melbourne’s grooviest streets and hidden laneways discovering places you'd never find on your own!
Melbourne’s famous street art culture is unlike any other and on this running tour, you will explore Hosier Lane, AC/DC Lane and a few other laneways that I’ll keep as a surprise for you during the tour. This 8km running adventure will take you laneway hopping, sharing with you the iconic shops, bars and cafes that Melbournians love to flock to, so you’ll feel just like a local.
Learn more about Melbourne’s rich history as I share stories from the past, present (and future….) and fun facts about the city with you. Witness Melbourne’s distinct variation between the modern high rise architecture and older Victorian style buildings, learning how the two mesh and how both are quintessential in shaping Melbourne’s culture. As we run past the landmarks that shape Melbourne, there will be an ample amount of time to make sure you get that Instagram worthy photo.
As we reach the end of the tour, we will head one of the quirky laneway cafes that
Melbourne is so famous for a morning caffeine fix!
Other things to note
This tour is suitable for all levels of runners from beginners through to regular runners. This tour can be adapted to a run/walk or walk if needed - just ask!

The wonderful team of Tim, Tony, Cayla, Jacqui, Josh and myself look forward to sharing the best of Melbourne with you!

Not only was Matty's running tour fantastic, I got to learn a bit about his small business (he operates a lean running tour operation both in Melbourne and Sydney). He had some cool Melbourne insights and we stopped for delicious donuts. Would highly recommend his tour once travel restarts. It's more important than ever to support small businesses like his.

Tony was my guide and he was very good at setting the run to my pace! He also catered the tour to where wanted to go since I was a solo runner to the Queen Victoria Market which I very much appreciated. Gave a free drink at the end! Was great to be introduced to Melbourne this way, wouldn't have had a thorough introduction tour without this run!

Tim is gorgeous. He knows the city, loves the city, which made the tour really informative. It made me think of staying longer in this city! He also adjusted the pace from time to time to make the journey easy. I couldn’t have done it by myself.

This was a fun experience. Matty was very considerate and looked after our group. We learned many interesting historical facts about the city on the run. A nice surprise was that we stopped for donuts halfway through at an amazing place called “Short Stop”. We saw many different laneways which i have not seen before and even saw the inside of the Manchester Unity building - an interesting site that I have seen many times but never bothered to go in to. I can recommend this tour wholeheartedly to anyone who is a local or a tourist. The tour concludes nicely with a coffee in Degraves street. Total tour time is around 2 hours. Pace is based on your ability so don’t be put off by this being a “run”.
