What you'll do

The Revolutionary Story Tour is different. The simplest thing to grasp is that instead of walking Boston's Freedom Trail geographically - starting at one end and following it to the other - we explore the American Revolution chronologically through the streets of the original neighborhoods. The sightseeing is synchronized with and unfolds to the storytelling. There’s a lot less emphasis on the facts and the dates and a lot more on the passions, personalities, and psychologies driving the events. The entire experience has been built with the aspirations and anxieties of a fellow tourist in mind.

We see the major landmarks like Faneuil Hall, Old North Church (Paul Revere's Midnight Ride), the Old South Meeting House (Boston Tea Party), Old State House (Boston Massacre) but it's not just checking famous spots off your list but about helping you connect the dots together: The Battle of Bunker Hill, Stamp Act Riots, Sam Adams, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin and so much more.

From protest to resistance to rebellion the intensification of American opposition to England was first, foremost, and fiercest in this city. What took place here has become a central part of America's identity and we use both patriot and loyalist perspectives to recover truth from legend.

My aim was to create for Boston the kind of intimate, immersive, and fulfilling experience I looked for all over the world. As a 15 year + local resident holding B.A.'s in History and Political Science and an M.S. in Public Policy with both good and bad experiences in budget and package travel, I'm uniquely positioned to combine local insights, academic expertise, and the ambitions of curious travelers seeking a unique cultural experience. This tour is a comprehensive adventure: a scenic stroll over an inclusive itinerary covering Boston's signature sights, structured as one sustained story, going beyond "show and tell" sightseeing to enter into the drama and recapturing the energy that invented America.

We had such a fun morning as we toured Boston with Mike! He was knowledgeable, funny, and made learning about history fun!! We would highly recommend this experience — wayyyy better than just walking the freedom trail while trying to put the pieces of history together. Mike gives a totally different perspective on the events that happened from what you learn in school. 10/10 would recommend!

Mike was a great tour guide! It was chilly outside but he kept the group moving and with his story telling we didn't notice the cold. I had an understanding of the revolution from basic school studies but he told stories of the personalities of the participants that stick with me more than dates and names. Absolutely recommend this tour!

At temps hovering at freezing, this nearly five hour walking tour should have been cancelled. For the first 90 minutes we stood around in graveyards in the wind and shade listening to Mike’s supercilious commentary ad naseum. My wife and I left the tour at that point, cold to the bone. I didn’t want to negatively comment but this is the fourth time I’ve been prompted to respond with no easy way to unsubscribe...so here it is.

My girlfriend and I booked Mike for his History Walking Tour of Boston and it was FANTASTIC! It was the coldest fall day thus far so we bundled up with 10 other travelers and headed out to relive some American history. Mike was a true expert and he infused the Liberty Trail with his favorite unknown "characters" that get little play in history books. He kept us on a good clip so we tackled so much more ground than the average walking tour. One of Mike's super strengths was his ability to project his voice so that no one was ever asking "what did he say?" His passion for history oozed from his spirit and although it was a pretty chilly day, we totally enjoyed the tour and definitely felt like we got a bespoke experience! 5 Stars!

Mike is erudite and very invested in the subject. He took us to places that really brought to life the important historical figures as well as the events that transpired during the years leading up to the US Revolution. The result is a coherent narrative with a lot of nuances and complexity, interspersed with connections to modern day practices and culture, as well as plenty of local tips. The quality and sheer amount of facts and details presented aren't something I could see myself getting from anywhere else in such a brief amount of time. This is THE tour to take if you are visiting the the Boston/Cambridge area.

Mike was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained while we learned everything that led up to the American Revolution. He put all puzzle pieces together while also showing us ALOT of the must see places! We even learned about a never before heard of character that actually played a big role in the American Revolution.
