What you'll do

Cycling at Red Earth Village will take you to a village built on deep red earth and introduce to traditions that very few foreigners have ever been lucky enough to see.

This Tour will begin by meeting a community group that uses traditional methods and natural materials to build fish traps and other useful tools.

There is only one well in the village reported to be 58 meters deep, this well is the main water source for the distribution of water in a village. Come and try to pull up a bucket of water yourself.

As we enjoy cycling around the village, we will visit local families home, a house that was built by using mud clay taken from the red earth, and the women will show you she makes colorful mats and baskets using "ukili" a natural material.
We will cycle to a huge Baobab Tree before to a stunning viewpoint overlooking the seas where we will rest and enjoying fresh fruits before cycling back.

My name is Said, Managing Director at Saving Tour.

I have been doing Cycling at Red Earth Village since 2018 which my friend Mr'Machano introduce to me this activity and I enjoyed it. So that I initiate it to my clients because I understand that most travelers need something real Zanzibar's life to experience themselves which is rare to get it in Zanzibar and you should not miss it when you are in Zanzibar.
