What you'll do

My tour is a guided walking tour of Boston, focusing primarily on the Freedom Trail! We will begin in the Boston Common, where the Freedom Trail starts and move our way throughout the city, ending in the North End. Highlights include: The Massachusetts State House, Beacon Hill, Old State House, Boston Massacre Site, a lunch stop in Faneuil Hall, the Old North Church, Paul Revere's House and more!

While providing historical information and context, I'll also show guests the best photo ops in the city and even offer to take photos for them! My tour is different than other tours offered because it focuses on the best photo ops in Boston, provides background of each spot we are going to, along with modern-day recommendations, and includes a printed-out resource for guests to follow along with. I have my own travel blog (www.theabroadblog.com) and have written several posts about Boston; I will use these blog posts to aid my narrative.

I recently graduated university with degrees in Communication and International Studies, so I do my best to bring my guests together! After my tour I want my guests to leave feeling like they have a good understanding of the history in Boston, knowledge of where to eat and what to see after their tour, and are happy with the photos they captured on tour! Maybe you'll even want to Instagram one.
Other things to note
This tour may be canceled due to inclement weather since it is a walking tour. I will confirm with you the morning of! Also, there will be stops on the tour for food, water, and restroom breaks. Food is not included. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes since we will be walking about 3 miles!

Hi everyone, I'm Nicole! I grew up right outside of Boston and visit the city frequently. After 22 years of city visits, I feel like I've developed a strong understanding of the culture and history of Boston. Furthermore, I recently graduated university with a degree in Communication and International Studies. My top strength has always been Communication, so I'm confident that I'll engage with and share information to my guests clearly and accurately. I've been a tour guide for international students in Los Angeles and New York City, and have given educational tours in places such as Santa Monica, San Diego, Brooklyn, and Times Square. Lastly, I run my own travel blog, The Abroad Blog, and have written about Boston several times. I will use my blog posts as a resource during my tours. I can't wait to meet you!

Where you'll be

We will begin in the Boston Common at the start of the Freedom Trail and divert into Beacon Hill for a photo stop at iconic Acorn Street. From here, we will make our way to Downtown Boston to see sights such as the Old South Meeting House, the State House, and to stop for lunch in Faneuil Hall. After lunch, our tour will continue through the North End, for a short pastry stop, and to see Paul Revere's home and the famous Old North Church.

What a wonderful experience! The trip was very well organized- Nicole was punctual, and everything was well thought out! It definitely helped that Nicole is a Boston native- she was very informative and gave out some tips and ideas during my stay in Boston! Overall, I thought the trip was well worth my time and money!!

This tour was phenomenal! I’m not from the Boston area so learning from Nicole was wonderful and so educational. She also has a travel blog that was very helpful, and it was a great resource for the tour. It was fun, educational, exciting, and Nicole is a great public speaker. You feel as though you’re the only one on the tour. It feels very very personalized as well which is huge. Definitely would recommend this to locals as well as people not from the area like myself!

I cannot say enough good things about this tour! I'm an avid traveler and have been on endless walking tours in different cities around the world and I can honestly say that this was one of my favorites. I live in the Boston area and was itching for something to treat my travel bug amidst the pandemic and this was definitely it. Nicole is very knowledgeable about the city's history and I was able to learn a lot even though I've grown up in the area. She made the tour very entertaining and was very accomodating to someone who had disabilities in the group. She is so fun to talk to about this city and about travel in general. She also mentioned a blog that she has been writing for a few years called the Abroad Blog which I spent hours reading after the tour because I couldn't get enough of her tips! Do yourself a favor and book this tour if you're in the area!

Loved my evening tour!!! Nicole went above and beyond for this tour, adding her own unique spark to a fulfilling guide around the Freedom Trail. Nicole makes every minute of your time worthwhile. From picture stops to excerpts of her own "The Abroad Blog" Nicole combines a wealth of Boston knowledge with the pov from a local to deliver a well-done tour experience. I will definitely sign up for anything else hosted by Nicole. -Would definitely recommend for families, out-of-towners, and couples looking for an outdoor activity in these uncertain times -Engage Nicole in conversation about other places she has been in the world -Ask lots of questions!!

Nicole gave an excellent tour and I would definitely recommend it. She is very knowledgeable of the city since she is a local and was able to give us great recommendations for lunch as well as where to get the best photos. My favorite stop had to be Acorn Street!
