What you'll do

We're going to visit four Artistic Communitarian Projects which have been a true marking point changing everything around on its location. More than just an artistic tour, you'll have the chance to learn interesting details of Cuban's daily life for real and interact with them. The goal is to take you to different spots in Havana and show you how poor communities have been saved through the artistic evolution.

We'll use a Classic American hardtop car for the journey, and that will allow us to visit unique art communities like Fusterlandia and Callejon Hammel.

I'll provide you useful and interesting information about Cubans real life:
1- Local and personal economy
2- History
3- Art
4- Religions

I recommend you take this tour on your first day in Havana, as you will learn some useful advice and tips which might make easier your stay in the country. I will also try to answer every question you might have related to the Cuban real life.
Other things to note
This tour ends in Central Park, the same place where we're supposed to meet.

Hi, I'm Michel. More than 15 years of daily work in tourism has given me the expertise to find out hidden and different sides of the Cuban society. Tightly related to art since the beginning, I am constantly trying to interpret the intricate codes of the Cuban reality. I love to summarize that reality and give it to my friends in a colloquial way. Art, politics, sports, society and mostly the closer and friendly Cubans relations to everyone is the base of our experience. I'm a personal friend of some artists creators of art communities in Havana, and with some luck, you will be able to meet them.

Where you'll be

The first Artistic Communitarian Project in our journey will be "Proyecto Arte Corte". After this, we'll jump into a vintage car to visit the three places left. You'll visit Callejon de Hammel and Fusterlandia, two of the most important Artistic Communitarian Projects in Havana City. "Barrio del Arte" will be the last community in the route.

This was a great tour and I had a brilliant host! I am so happy I was able to take this tour, as I would of never been able to find these places on my own. I'm just sorry that I lost my phone and I am not able to share the beautiful pictures I took on the tour :(

Great experience to see some unique art communities in Havana. It would have been nice to spend more time at each location and it did feel rushed at times, especially Fusterlandia which is so expansive we didn't get to see it all. Michel was super knowledgeable about Cuban history and the history of the art communities, he was engaging and spoke perfect English. The driver was great, we really had an awesome time.
