What you'll do

Hike in an amazing and unknown area of Marseille

In Marseille, you have tourist attractions as "le Vieux Port", Notre Dame de La Garde, la Canebière, les Calanques, the Stadium but you have also magnificent, really unknown and silent areas just next to the center of the city !
All the photos you can see, have been taken about 15 minutes far from the Vieux Port !
Leaving from Vallon des Auffes, we'll follow the all too often noisy and polluted "Corniche" by going through back roads.
We'll pass at the edge of rocky coves less busy than beaches, and discover secret gardens, picturesque cottages, abandoned sculptures and old mansions by walking along green paths and banisters through a lush vegetation.
A gorgeous route that only some insiders know about, if they live in the area !
For photography lovers or just for the pleasure, we'll take meditative breaks when arriving at the wonderful view spots over Marseilles natural bay.
Of course I'll tell you about the history of this district and its evolution with the rise of the real estate and the arrival of « famous people ».
After three hours power-walking (ascending and descending quite a few stairs !), we'll access to a little piece of heaven overhanging the sea.A guaranteed change of scenery !
Come with me to discover an other Marseille !

After travelling extensively for many years, I settled in Roucas Blanc and have been living for the past 23 years. This secret Marseille 's neighborhood is a lush paradise by the sea, away from the bustle of the crowds.
As an insider, I know all its hidden coves, remote passages, islands of greenery, majestic houses and spectacular views.
As my professional occupation allowed me to know perfectly this fascinating city, I would be happy to tell you different stories about Marseille and its inhabitants. I would share also my best tips with you : restaurants, walks and other addresses.

Where you'll be

We'll follow the Corniche (all too often noisy and polluted) along less travelled pathways which tourists and even locals don't necessarily know. Seaside in Malmousque, wild paths and old stone hidden stairways climbing up through the hills of Bompard and Roucas Blanc.
After three hours of walking while enjoying the differents sights, we'll end up in a little paradise overlooking the sea.
Just in time for a well-deserved drink !

Don t miss it. A rare opportunity to get to know some wonderful Marseille neighbourhoods that are off the beaten track. Jean-Marc is very thoughtful, knows the area like the back of his hand and is extremely easy to like. The tour is incredibly scenic and offers lots of variety with many interesting facts to learn along the way. Even the coffee, healthy cookies and a sanitary stop is catered for. The mistral blowi g only intensified the light and the stunning colours. A photographic paradise! We've made a new friend!
