What you'll do

Pick Chocolate, Mangoes, Oranges, and Starapples along the dirt paths as we tour our farms on 20 acres of family owned land. See how we grow Free Range Chickens, Goats and Pigs, feeding directly from the Earth. Have Curried Goat, Stew Chicken or Beef from our own organically grown livestock from the land. Food prepared with the love and care of Aunty Queenie, the best cook in Beckford Kraal. While you eat, hear stories from our Family Historian and community patriarch, Uncle Bunny.

We will start off at the Family house at around 10 a.m. just behind the community square, and we will make a trek toward "Grass Piece." The trek will take us up to about 11: 30 thereabout. We will have lunch at noon. After lunch we will sit for a little bit and finish up with stories from Uncle Bunny. We will take a walk down to Blackstone's Edge. You may care to take the lunge and go hiking 1000 feet below. We will take a walk back to Grass Piece and take potato pudding and some extra food for the road. Have a drink at "South of the Border" and a game of dominoes before you leave at 5PM.

Leave with a holistic experience, of subsistence farming our community and a rich family history, make new friends and get ideas on how technology and your perspectives can improve food security in your own lives. Each guest will receive a complimentary book of our Family History - The Langley Links.

This land at Beckford Kraal has been in our family over 120 years. My mother and has published a book about the family and our community and our diaspora has come back home from 5 continents for reunions, weddings and funerals to experience something they have not experience elsewhere.

I have been a professional storyteller in various media formats for 20 years and have hosted trips here for international friends, who the residents would not have granted access if not for me.

I am passionate about over unearthing the value of my family property and history, as I want my daughter to be able to benefit later on as a person of colour from a multigenerational family legacy.
