What you'll do

Note: The price per person includes German 16% VAT.

We shall spend Up to 3 hours exploring the last 800+ years of Munich and Bavarian History together. We will touch upon subjects starting from the origins of Munich in the 12th century up until modern day and how those traditions and culture are very much alive in everyday life in this wonderful former medieval city.

During the tour we will learn about the Monarchy, Legends and Fables, Bavarian culture, Beer (of course) and see lot's of interesting architecture as we understand how Munich changed over History and how the city recovered after the bombing in WW2.

Munich has many nicknames; “The Largest Village in Germany”, “The Beer Capital of the World”, “Athens on the Isar River”, “The Northern most Village in Italy” and “The City of Festivals”. By the end of my tour you will understand why!

I bring a tablet on my tour so I can share lot's of interesting photo's and help the history come alive combined with my storytelling and theatricality.

We will touch upon the subject of the Third Reich in Munich but only lightly as I offer another tour called 'The Rise of Hitler and the Third Reich', which currently has all 5 star reviews.

There will be a 15 minute break during the tour.

If the date you want is not on my calendar please send me a date request.

I look forward to meeting you soon.

Meet your host, Jax

Host on Airbnb since 2019

My name is Jax and I‘m a British expat who has been living in Munich since 2016 with my wonderful German wife who I met 7 years ago in London, UK. I became a tour guide once arriving and fell in love with the job, so have been a full time professional tour guide for the past 3.5 years now. I currently work for two of the best tour agencies in Munich as a freelancer and in January 2019 I started my own private tour guide business called ‘Experience Munich Tours’.

I already have over 200 five star reviews all over TripAdvisor, google, get your guide, Viator, Airbnb and other platforms. Look me up!

I would say that my style of tour guiding is interactive, passionate, concise, clear spoken, fun, inclusive and at times theatrical. I always bring my tablet on the tour to share lots of photos and pictures to help the history come alive.
