What you'll do

In the initial part of the tour we will briefly tell you our story and the history of the place that we have decided to make our home.

The tour continues by going to see what happens in the hive, thanks to a modified hive we will be able to see inside the hive and understand how the bees work (in the dark!), Where they put the nectar, the pollen and where they raise the new workers.
How they store honey will be important to understand how we beekeepers take this food, without damaging the colony and leaving enough honey for the survival of the bees. In fact, the "bee nest" where the family lives is not touched by the beekeeper except to check that the bees are well. The honey that the beekeeper extracts is the surplus of the hive and is stored in additional modules (the supers).
The tour ends with a presentation of the final product and other products deriving from the hive (all this with the breathtaking sea view in the background): pollen, propolis, wax. Even these products, much more difficult to obtain, are part of the thousand surprises that bees make us beekeepers find.

I started being a beekeeper by starting to eat a lot of honey and then continuing to be interested in the dynamics of the bee society, which is very complex and based on the concept that the needs of the colony prevail over those of the individual.
So I recovered together a swarm from a beekeeper from whom I began to understand how to interact with the bee society, and then continued my experiences by following a beekeeping course at the Turin agricultural faculty. I concluded my studies with a thesis on bee venom, its properties and economic interest.
After a short work experience in central Italy in 2016 I started working on a project with the University of Turin for the study and monitoring of this alien and invasive predator.

Where you'll be

My company enjoys the best sea view you can find in these areas, you will be amazed!
The choice seems almost madness, the territory is very hard from a geographical point of view, the logistics are difficult and the productions are lower than in other places. The desire to try the adventure was stronger than fears, so last year we founded the N1 - Numerouno farm
