What you'll do

Cycling Without Age - the cargo bike experience with a twist

This is the perfect experience for people of all capabilities and ages. Whether you’re a family, a young or an older couple, a group or a lone traveler, you’ll definitely want to experience Copenhagen by cargo bike, and we’ll tailor the ride to your skills and interests.

We focus less on classic tourist spots and more on alternative Copenhagen. Examples include open air food markets, Refshaleøen, Nørrebro, Kolonihave areas etc.

Please be aware that this is an active cycling experience. For each group of 6 guests we rely on 2 or more guests to cycle. Ideally we all take it in turns to cycle and be passengers. If you prefer not to cycle, please book for one extra (fictive) person than you actually are so that we can cover the cost of an additional bike host. Please indicate this in your booking.

Before we head off, we make sure you know how to operate the cargo bikes. You will experience being a rider and a passenger.

A cargo bike is quintessentially Copenhagen, with over 40,000 cargo bikes. We use them for grocery shopping, picking up kids from daycare or taking grandma to bingo

We're a group of 'cycle pilots' in Cycling Without Age, a non-profit started in Copenhagen in 2012. We help end loneliness among elderly people by engaging them in enjoyable trishaws rides in their local communities.

We love cycling, we love our city and we're excited to give you the Copenhagen cargo bike experience with a twist. Visit www.cyclingwithoutage.org to learn more!

About the organization: Cycling Without Age

Cycling Without Age is on a mission to build better lives by giving elderly people the right to wind in their hair. We create experiences, friendships and happiness by means of beautiful three-wheeled cycle trishaws with a comfortable couch in the front. Since the beginning in 2012, volunteers have offered over 50,000 rides to elderly people and trained more than 10,000 pilots in 40 countries.

This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to Cycling Without Age.

Where you'll be

We'll meet in beautiful Frederiksberg, where we will we'll have a chance to practice slowly on quiet residential streets.
Be ready to enjoy cruising on the wide bike lanes and across famous bridges. We decide on the specific route closer to the date to take into account the groups interests and the weather!

I had an absolutely brilliant time with Steph! She was so lovely and welcoming. I was quite lucky to have a private tour and we were able to freestyle and go to different places. I’m not very good at riding a bike but I felt comfortable the whole time and I really enjoyed cycling. Thank you so much Steph for being so kind and friendly!

Rebecca was a wonderful guide- she reaches out beforehand to learn more about us and our interests. She shared a lot about Danish culture and tailored the tour to our interests. Our kids loves her and one week later they still talk about “Miss Rebecca”. We loved the tour! Thank you for everything

An forgettable experience, to see and experience Copenhagen through the eyes of a local. We were brought to many beautiful places, saw the amazing architecture around Copenhagen, heard amazing personal stories from Steph. Steph is a wonderful host. She’s warm, humorous and really goes the extra mile. It also made us more aware of the cause they are supporting - Cycling without Age. Great work there, we will certainly find out more in our home country.

Great for kids! We cycled the town with a family of five (parents, four-year-old, two-year-old, and infant). Rebeka, and Steph bundled the kids with extra blankets and us parents drank hot coffee and gløgg when we stopped. Rebeka helped us choose what to cycle to: Tower Playground, Urban Oase animal park, Nyhavn Christmas Market, and Amalienborg Palace. Rebeka was a great host, she provided us with a sunny December day and great conversation.
