What you'll do

We'll walk around the neighborhood of Trastevere as I give you a tutorial on the basics of photography, both digital and analog. Away from the crowds and the over-photographed touristic spots, I'll show you hidden gems and paths while introducing you to the local Roman community! I'll give you photo tips along the way so you can make the most out of your camera. We'll review the photos over an espresso at my favorite cafe and I will tell you some easy ways to post-edit your shots in order to make them even better!

Where you'll be

We'll meet at the Piazza di San Cosimato and then we go up the cobblestone alleys to San Pietro in Montorio. After that we head to the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola, enjoy the view from Gianicolo hill, and then head down to Santa Maria di Trastevere. We'll end our walk at my favorite cafe.

I booked this experience for me and my 10 years old niece who told me she wanted to learn photography. I also wanted to learn how to use my new reflex and get some pro tips. The time spent with Antonis went way beyond our expectations. Antonis reached out to me before the experience to know what our background was, so he could adapt the experience for us. When we met him he gave my niece some basic info on photography and he even brought a reflex for her to try. Then he explained quickly how to use my new camera and then we started out tour of Trastevere, where we could see the best views of the city and secret spots. During the entire time, Antonis gave us tips on how to use the camera and encouraged us practice. At the end we went to a really cool caffè where he offered coffee and snacks. We reviewed the pictures we had taken and he gave us tips on how to edit them. During this entire time both me and my niece learnt so much about photography and how to use our cameras, and we took pictures we love. Antonis is a patient and very skilled teacher, and a fun, empathetic friend. Don't hesitate to book this and you'll never forget this experience.

Great experience!! Antonis' experience introduced me to a more personable side of Rome - quieter, less touristed area of Rome, but no less beautiful or historic. It was a perfect backdrop to learn how to use the settings on my camera. Never knew how to use even a quarter of the functions on the camera, but after 2.5 hours, felt fairly comfortable with manually adjusting my settings. Highly recommend this experience - will make all my future travels that much more rewarding with nice photos!! As a bonus, he also showed me how to optimize pics on the iPhone.

This was an amazing experience in the not-so-touristy part of Rome with an amazing guide and teacher. My husband and I just got into photography and Antonis was patient and extremely knowledgeable with all the functions - he is a true professional. We were brought to unique spots away from the hoards of tourists and have some amazing shots. I would recommend this to any one interested in photography, even with a camera phone! Antonis will show you little tricks to improve your shots!

It was a very nice experience with Antonis, who gave us the feeling, that we know each other since years. He is a very patient person, who has the feeling and passion for art and showed us spots, which we wouldn't have seen without him. We learned a lot, specially how to give Fotos a better look, when you use the light and the point of view, if you are inside a building. We definitely recommend him and wish him all the best!

Antonis is so friendly, personable, knowledgeable, and a wonderful photography teacher! He was so patient with me as he walked me through photography lessons. Aside from having a deep knowledge of photography, he also has a deep knowledge about Rome. I learned a lot of history as we walked around and applied the photography skills that Antonis taught me. Definitely recommend!!
