What you'll do

From Portland, we head west on the old Great Plank Road, across the Willamette Valley, over the lush Coastal Mountains, to famed Highway 101 and the Pacific Ocean, to see the dramatic Oregon Coast and Haystack Rock! We cruise the cliffs of Neahkahnie Head looking for lighthouses and whales. Next, Oswald West Park offers old-growth forest, bald eagles, and the breathtaking Short Sands beach! We return to Cannon, our classic coast town, and walk to Haystack Rock, our most famous ocean monolith! Up close, we may sea puffins, sea lions, tide pools, or rock pounding surf! We can opt for more at Hug Point, Arch Cape, and Arcadia Beach. Or, we can stroll main street and the cedar-shake shops filled with confections, fresh seafood, microbrews and souvenirs. In epic style, we visit Ecola State Park for indescribable iconic views--where movies like The Goonies, the Twilight Saga and Point Break were filmed--that showcase the mind-blowing beauty of the Oregon Coast. And, all along the drive, I will lay out the entire history, nature and culture of Oregon--customized (or embellished!) as you wish--like no other guide can!

Ask about flexible start times, meeting places and larger groups. This tour is awesome all day, any season and weather!

Couldn't be happier with the tour First the basics - 1. Adam drives very safely 2. Manages the time well, very punctual 3. Takes good COVID precautions From the moment I met Adam, I could tell that he loves his job as a tour guide. He's very proud of being an Oregonian, a Portlander. Adam is well traveled with broad knowledge of American history, geology and local fun facts, very easy to talk to, great communication overall. I especially appreciate that Adam really tries his best to make sure the guest has the best experience. I was very thankful that Adam got in touch with me before the tour and helped me with great itinerary suggestions for my entire Portland trip.

Adam was an amazing tour guide, driver, and host! The experience he offers is unbelievable. It couldn’t have gone any better. Adams knowledge of Oregon / the coast, the history and his stories were so informational and intriguing. Adam is very friendly, funny, outgoing, and accommodating to what you would like to do or see. We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Portland area. We were amazed at the awe-inspiring views of the coast on a day with extreme high winds and high tides, it was like right out of a movie experience! You definitely will NOT regret booking Adam for your tour! Do IT!!

Adam is the absolute best! Do yourself a favor and book any of his tours. You won’t be disappointed. This tour went above and beyond expectations. Adam was incredibly responsive and accommodating from the get-go, adjusting the time twice to meet my schedule. I think I learned more from him about a state and a city, and really the entire country than I’ve ever actually learned in any other tour or college history course. He’s a fantastic story teller and has a wealth of knowledge he’s ready and willing to share. The number of places and pieces of Oregon and the coast that I experienced during the half-day tour was more than I would have even known to bookmark. The photos I was able to take are incredible. Felt very much like a true local experience, which I loved. Adam is the real deal. I’m very happy to have met him and I’m so glad I chose this tour over others!

Wow! I left this experience knowing I’ve got a friend for life in Adam, I know much more about Portland than most Portlanders, and I know how to say Willamette (damn it)! Adam was thorough in history of the place, very connected to the city, and has deep roots. He presented information in story form that drew you into each location as if you’ve known it all your life. The places he takes you on this experience are jaw dropping. Leaves you in a state of wonderlust! What an incredible experience that EVERYONE should do!
