What you'll do

Our life philosophy is EAT ANYTHING, ANYWHERE. We like eating some of the best foods, in odd places. We will meet on the waterfront in Greenpoint, where we will tear into and slurp dozens of oysters, harvested by our oyster farmer friends, while looking over the East River and City skyline. You will learn how to properly shuck an oyster and will go home with a shucking knife of your own. The memories will be in the details. We will set up in "flash-mob" "pop-up" style along the water. Expect the unexpected.

I am a native New Englander with a passion for shucking oysters anywhere and everywhere. I am the owner of a "secret supper club" where we work closely with oyster farmers, chefs, artists, hospitality unicorns + performers. We like to throw parties in obscure places while making delicacies like oysters and caviar more approachable.

I've done a ton of AirBnB experiences, but oyster shucking with Alexis was by far the BEST one that I have ever done! Alexis does an exceptional job in making oyster shucking an experience that is approachable and fun. I've been wanting to learn how to shuck oysters for quite some time having grown up around seafood on Long Island, and I finally know how. With a beautiful view, delicious and filling lunch that was available through an add on menu, and so many laughs and smiles, this was easily an experience to remember. Alexis is approachable, knowledgeable, and joyful - highly recommend!

Alexis’ events always exceed our expectations. We actually used to attend her pop up events when we lived in Boston last year. When we found out she was coming to NYC, we knew we HAD to come. Alexis is awesome and everything was prepped before we arrived. Her directions were easy to follow. She always has a few surprises up her sleeve and we can’t wait to do another one next month. Book it, you won’t regret it!

What a breath of fresh air Alexis was! And the experience was muuuuch more lovely than anticipated - who knew shucking oysters would be so fun! My friend just called me up and said she had an Airbnb experience for me - and I thought sure, why not? Next thing I know, I’m right next to the river, on a gorgeous day, sipping some champagne and eating oysters I cracked open myself. One of the best parts of shucking oysters is that they don’t immediately disappear. You’re forced to eat them slowly, one by one, and it prolongs the experience. And for the price, we had so many oysters! Alexis is a good teacher - I learned to shuck on my first try. And it’s fun- let me tell you. The kind of unexpected burst of joy that everyone needs in 2020. Highly recommend the experience for all. Also, Alexis is a gem and she has great taste in caviar, condiments, wine, and of course, oysters.
