What you'll do
If you are planning to climb Mt.Fuji,
this tour is a must to join for your meaningful climb!
Mt.Fuji is not only the highest mountain in Japan,
but it has been worshipped as a sacred mountain for long years.
The Mt.Fuji worship had developped uniquely enough to have its own believes and customs,
and prevailed widely in Edo period,
so that many worshippers had come to climb it from all over Japan until about 100 years ago.
And they visited the shrines and the sacred spots to pray and purify themselves before climbing up the mountain as its believes and customs.
Talking about the climb itself,
it is actually simple and easy as long as you keep lifting your legs up continuously until the mountain top,
so it can be a boring mountain especially for experienced climbers except the splendid view from the summit.
But if you deeply understand the beliefs, customs and history of the Mt.Fuji worship in advance,
your climbing experience can become as meaningful as the pilgrimage in old days.
In this tour, we will visit several interesting spots where you can understand and experience the Mt.Fuji worship while hiking in the vast forest spreading out on the foot of Mt.Fuji.
As a nature guide, I will show you totally different aspects of Mt.Fuji in this tour!
Now let's go together with me!
(^o^)v
Other things to note
# This is a easy hiking tour without steep climb, but including a walk about 10 kilometers.
# The route we hike is well-equipped with several restrooms.
# The transportation fee is about 400JPY in total from Kawaguchiko station.
# This tour opens basically from July to mid-Sep.

Where you'll be
We'll start at World Heritage Center to learn about Mt.Fuji worship,
and walk on the long trail of Mt.Fuji from the very bottom for a while until Biodiversity Center where you can learn about Japanese animals and plants.
After lunch, we'll visit a hidden sacred cave where you can actually experience a religious practice of the worship.
Then, we'll take another trail back down to an old huge shrine worshiping Mt.fuji in the end of our hike.
