What an amazing experience! It’s not just a walk on the beach. It’s just the right amount of strenuous physical challenge combined with outstanding stunning beauty. If you love nature - snorkeling, climbing over lava rocks, and hiking, you will love this experience as much as we did. So glad Juan was able to accommodate my family! I went to this tour with my mom, aunt, stepfather and puppy and all of us had an amazing time with Juan as our guide. We were born in the island, only my stepfather being from Mexico and we all enjoyed this day to the fullest. We had never been to this hidden beaches and locations so it was a new experience for all of us. Oh and Jimmy our puppy had a great time as well! So ask Juan if you can bring your best friend to the adventure. Juan adapted to our pace and was very patient and kind from beggining to end. He will adapt to you and your group. Juan felt like a welcoming friend showing us what he loves about the island. First we went snorkeling and the waters at our secret beach were crystal clear, not deep and just the perfect temperature and there were many colorful fish and rocks with corals in the water that we enjoyed watching. After that we went to the top of a cliff where we saw a magical view of the beach, and the flora and fauna of the huge coast. It looked like we reached the edge of the world or like being transported to a fantasy location. Later we went down and there were two private tide pools waiting for us to refresh ourselves after the walk. While there, Juan gave us pieces of sugar cane fresh from the island's vegetation. It tasted so sweet, juicy and delicious after walking and exploring, it hit the spot and gave us the energy to keep going. He also provided cold water and snacks. If you want someone to show you the beauties that the island of Puerto Rico has hidden, book this experience with Juan! You won't regret it. As others have mentioned, travel light and just bring your cellphone or camera for pictures and wear bathing suits that will protect you from the sun. Long sleeved bathing suits are recommended. Don't bring towels with you or heavy backpacks. Water will be provided by Juan. Comfortable water shoes or sneakers are a must for walking on the rocks (wet and dry) and the different textures of the sand there. I will book this experience with Juan again next time I come to the island for sure! I recommend this experience 100%. It was wonderful

My family spent a full day exploring the beach and the rainforest with Juan. It was amazing!! We got to see so many things that we never would have found on our own and learn so much about the culture here in Puerto Rico. My boys (who are 12 and 15) loved how physical the tour was - the rock climbing, the snorkeling, swimming our way up the river and, of course, sliding down the rocks. I was completely exhausted at the end of the day, but happily so. A few notes - pack less than you think you need. Wear long sleeve swim shirts and surf shorts so you don’t have to change clothes and make sure you have good hiking/water shoes. You won’t need towels until you get back to your car and Juan carries waters, snacks and bandaids. Just bring your phone/camera in a ziploc bag or dry bag and he’ll take tons of pictures for you. Highly recommend!

Our family of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers) had an amazing experience with Juan. We spent the first part of the day hiking and snorkeling at his secret beach and spent the afternoon in El Yunque. The hike along the secret beach was spectacular - we had the entire area to ourselves. Juan was so knowledgeable and told us a lot about Puerto Rican culture, history and ecology during our tour, but didn’t overload us with facts. Our experience with Juan was magical and one of the next travel experiences we’ve ever had!

Juanday as we now refer to it was a day full of adventure and fun. We started the day hiking and rock climbing through different ecosystems around the beach learning about the local animals and vegetation. We snorkeled and explored a reef. We got a quick lunch and then ventured to El Yunque where we hiked, climbed rocks through rivers, swam, and went under water falls and down rock slides. Juan was an excellent guide, he was patient, kind, kept us all safe, and was always a willing photographer! We felt like we got a VIP tour with a local that was so much better than anything we could have experienced on our own or with a typical commercial tour. We had kids ages 9-14 in our group and they all loved it. If we return to PR we definitely hope to plan another adventure with Juan. It was a highlight of our trip to the island!
