What you'll do

My family, my dog, Billo ,and I will guide you in truffle hunting in our beautiful woods in Chianti. Truffle hunting is an ancient tradition in Tuscany, and has only one rule—respect nature. For this reason, it will be necessary to conduct a small briefing before going into the woods, a sacred place for truffle hunters. During the hunt, I will tell you about the truffle, the magic of its traditions, its history, mythology, and uses in the kitchen. You will learn how to recognize and distinguish a good truffle from other fake "truffles" of inferior quality. After the hunt, we will return home for a scheduled lunch or dinner, based on fresh, real truffles and served with our own wine and extra virgin olive oil. We will show you how to clean truffles and prepare typical truffle recipes, such as crostini al tartufo, tagliatelle al tartufo, and more.

My family was born here in Chianti, and we have always appreciated truffles—the treasures of this land. I love to cook, and my husband is an expert winemaker. My son, Edoardo, is a composer, and his grandfather, Giuseppe, is a professional truffle hunter and member of the Tuscan Truffle Hunters Association. My husband and I will prepare the food and wine, and Edoardo and Giuseppe will show you how to find truffles in our woods.

Daniela and Daniele were wonderful hosts who introduced us to the world of Trüffel hunting with their cute dogs Bea and Billo. It was a beautiful, fun, interesting, tasty and personal experience and we can only recommend it.

I did a bit of research for this experience and found a few Truffle Hunt experiences on Airbnb....but I truly believe I picked the best one even if it was further from Siena than some of the others (closer to Florence). From the full explanation of different types of truffles found throughout the year, to how the dogs are trained, being involved with the hunt and finally having just an amazing meal with truffles and their wine, olive oil and balsamic....this experience was above and beyond what I expected and ended up being one of my best days in Tuscany! It’s also located in one of the most beautiful areas of Chianti with gorgeous vineyards all around! Highly recommended!

This was a very special experience. Truffel hunting with the dogs was so much fun. And we found a lot of truffles. And the meal and the wine were delicious. Everything was great and worth every penny. Thanks to Daniela, her husband and her dogs!

We had a fantastic day! Daniela explained the different types of truffles that exist and regulations. We walked through the woods and vines, discovered this magnificent region, found different varieties of truffles and then had an excellent lunch based on truffles and also tasted their wine and olive oil. Do not miss this experience! Thanks so much to both of you for this memorable experience.

We had such a lovely time! The dogs are so adorable and truffle hunting was fun. If I'm honest, I think you'd have a lovely day even if you weren't as lucky as we were in finding truffles. The farm and woods are beautiful to walk around. It's a vineyard; so you also get to wander between the grapevines, they show you the whole wine making process, you get to try it (and it's good!) as well as their truffle oil etc. You get a meal a the terrace in their garden (packed with truffles), a lesson about the truffles, and the couple who run the place are really really sweet, speak good English and genuinely just want you to have a nice time. One of the highlights of our holiday.

It was an overall great experience. We enjoyed going on the truffle hunt and the lunch was exceptionally good. We also had wine, balsamic vinegar and olive oil made by the hosts themselves. Highly recommended!
