What you'll do

Once we meet, we'll get right to the action. Our drawing subject combines nature, architecture and wonderful unique views of the city. Then we spend some time giving some info about our location and view as well as some sketching pointers, including how to approach a complex scene, some insight into composition and perspective, followed by some watercolor "how-to's". We will spend the next 90 minutes or so sketching, drawing and then 60 or so painting create a unique and personalized souvenir of your visit to Budapest, that you create from scratch... No art experience necessary.
Other things to note
No need to bring any extra materials. Also, during the colder Autumn and Winter months, and during inclement weather, the boat service can be suspended without notice. In this case, we will draw from one of Budapest's many historic and scenic cafes while enjoying a hot beverage.

Jon was fantastic! He knew such great techniques to show me how to maneuver with the watercolors and I enjoyed his conversation! I was the only one in class but he made the class really awesome by personalizing it with great stories and help during the course!

Amazing experience! Jon is very passionate about sketching/painting and you can easily feel that when listening to him. I enjoyed the time we spent together very much, and he gave me an insight in what drawing is about. Perfect for getting started. I can highly recommend this experience when you are into arts in a way and want to do something that slows you down and deeply relaxes you.

Jon’s expertise along with personable guidance allowed me to reawaken a long dormant desire to draw and paint again. Talking through steps such as tools, shapes, perspective, color and detail was invaluable, which made it much easier than I thought it would be. Highly recommended!

This was a great experience to get a different perspective on the surrounding buildings. Jon was very accommodating and helpful when suggesting all sorts of restaurants/ places to go etc. We haven’t painted since we were 13/14 years old so it was a really fun and unique experience - fully recommend!

Jon was a great instructor and I loved my experience. He clearly has knowledge of drawing and painting and will work with you no matter what your level. He gives you the freedom to draw/paint the way you want, but gives great instruction along the way. He is very friendly and we had great conversation. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a peaceful, fun, and unique experience in Budapest!

Jon offered a nice experience and took us to location on a scenic route, by boat! He shared interesting facts about the city and useful tips during our art session. I definitely recommend this experience, as something different, peaceful in a busy city. Why not make your own, unique souvenir?
