What you'll do

Discover the best hikings around the Capital of Chile

I will take you to the Cerro Manquehuito, the most famous mountain in Santiago. This hike takes around 1 hour to the summit, where you will have the best view of the city! We'll stay at the summit about 30 minutes and then walk down to the starting point. The activity last about 2 hours.

Recommendations:
- Bring hiking shoes or hiking poles
- Bring at least 1 litre of water
- Some days can by very hot, bring sun protection
- If the weather is cold, bring a jacket
- Sleep well the night before and try not drinking alcohol!
- Have a good breakfast the morning of the hike

This hike is recommended for all ages and all physical condition, you don't need to be an expert hiker to do this :)

It is important you ask your doctor if you can practice hiking, specially if you had a recent desease or injury.

If you would like to experience a more advanced hiking experience, contact me and I will let you know where else we can go :)

I also offer Winery Tour to the winery of my family, please search the listing in airbnb "EXPLORE CHILE'S ARTISAN WINERIES".

My name is François, I'm 50% french and 50% chilean. I used to work in a big winery and decided to quit my job and follow my passion: sports and mountains. I have always practiced sports, until a few years ago I was a Javelin Thrower competing for Chile all over the world. Now I enjoy hiking, mountain bike and yoga. Today I invite you to hike to my favourite place in the city. I have different hikes for everybody, from easy with great views, to half day hikes with waterfalls and even more experienced hikes over 2800 meters high! Where you'll be

We will go to Cerro Manquehuito, the iconic mountain of Santiago. We will meet at 9:00 am in the morning and then start the hike. Already in the meeting point there is an incredible view of the city, and while we go up we can stop in different places to enjoy the nature and take pictures. The summit is the perfect place to relax, eat and take the best picture to the city!

Our experience was great! We completed the hike with Francois who was very accommodating and gave us plenty of recommendations of things to do, delicious tea at the top and shared with us some of his experiences in Chile. The hike overall was the perfect length to start off your morning. Highly recommend this experience with Francois

I am really glad I went on this hike with François. He is a terrific person, and really fun to get to know. The hike was a great way to start the day, and was easy to get to using an Uber. There were really great views of the city, and I am not sure I would have found this hike on my own! François also had a lot of awesome recommendations for how to spend my time in Santiago, which was an added bonus. I definitely recommend this hike!

François was a wonderful guide! The hike was just the right amount of challenging (3 miles, mostly uphill but only a few steep sections), not boring. The views were incredible! François brought up hot tea to share, and his nice camera to take photos of us. Highly recommend!

The perfect experience for someone looking to get away from the busy city and get the best views from Santiago. You can easily access the meeting point by taxi/Uber where you start your hike. Even there, you can already appreciate some beautiful views. The hike is short, quite steep at points but not too difficult. We recommend to bring hiking shoes or at least sport shoes with good traction. The views were magnificent all along the way, it really does not compare to other view points you might find in Santiago center. Plus, you get to enjoy the beautiful nature and some morning exercise. Our guide François was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Our hiking group was also very nice, two other couples. We were a very multi-cultural group and shortly after we started hiking, it felt like hanging out with a group of friends. We recommend this experience! /Alex & Jonatan
