What you'll do

I take you for a day of stroll through time, in the footsteps of American soldiers at the time of the Normandy landings in June 1944. Alternating between hiking, visiting the American and German cemetery, meeting with Danielle and reconstitution with Jean, you will take the full extent of this episode. It is only by going to the scene and listening to people that you can really see an event.

9:30 am: Departure for a hike on Omaha Beach. You will gain height and follow the country lanes used by the soldiers
11h00: Visit of the American cemetery
11:30 am: Explanations and breathtaking view of the sea and the Normandy coast.
12:30 pm: Meeting with Danielle, born in June 1944. She will tell you the story of her mother during the occupation around a plate of Norman cheeses and a bowl of cider.
3:00 p.m .: Meeting with Jean, a true enthusiast, and his Jeep Willys for a complete immersion in this period of history ...

Thanks to this day, you will discover the stories in history, what museums and films try to tell ... but never as well as those who really lived it. It is possible to have a new vision of things, to get closer to the experiences of the soldiers and the Normans during this war. The landscape has kept traces, memories too.

Where you'll be

Omaha Beach: one of the five landing beaches in Normandy where the immensity of the sea stretches as far as the eye can see. 8 km beach framed by rocky cliffs. Unspoiled site, calm reigns there after the storm, traces of history now blend seamlessly into nature.
Sainte Marie du Mont: Picturesque village of La Manche having undergone 4 years of occupation where the men of the 101st US Airborne Division were parachuted.
