What you'll do

We'll venture out on the Scioto River on Stand Up Paddleboards and experience the beautiful downtown riverfront. Meeting at Bicentennial park along the Scioto Mile, we'll start with a brief paddleboard instruction, then head out on the water. I'll be there to help guide you on aspects of paddleboarding, if needed, and to point out some highlights of my hometown Columbus on the city skyline. We'll head upstream about a mile toward the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers, where plenty of waterfowl like to roam. We may spot a great blue heron or great white egret. Then, a leisurely paddle back to the start. Paddleboarding is such a great combination of exciting & challenging, and peaceful & serene. If you are worried about your ability to balance on the paddleboard, don't fret-- there is always the option to kneel or sit. Join me to experience Columbus from this unique angle!
Other things to note
If you are worried about your ability to balance on the paddleboard, don't fret-- there is always the option to kneel or sit. The paddleboards are designed for adults (up to 265 lbs). Please ask before bringing children.

I was born and raised in Columbus. I love this city, and still love finding new and unique spaces and places within it to explore. I also love travel and adventure and have been Stand Up Paddleboarding for years in various places from Florida to Oregon. Especially during a time when people may not be able to travel very far, I am happy to share this getaway in the city.

Meet along the river at Bicentennial Park. The launch spot is directly below the Bicentennial Park stage/ampitheater-- it is a grassy hill with a small stone boat ramp. There are parking meters in this general vicinity.
