What you'll do
Finally RESTARTED after the COVID-19 quarantine! :)
This tour is all about food. Only for foodies passionate about food and fun, who want to explore how traditional products are made, visit small, family owned shops, the highlights in the local markets, hidden food gems, and learn about Hungarian food!
We will guide you to our favorite - not touristy - places in the VII. and VIII. district in Budapest. We will go to one local market, explore Hungarian street food, visit our most famous ruin bar, try one Hungarian eatery, and to be amazed at one famous Hungarian café with traditional local dessert. We will taste at least 10 different local food in small portions (include at least 3 hot). Promise, you will be not hungry at all after :)
For more inspiration and pics, please check out our Instagram: @fat_boy_foodies_walk_budapest
/ On Saturday tours the Szimpla ruin bar is not on the route, those times they don't accept groups inside. /
Other things to note
** Please feel free to request dates and times not posted /except Sundays, Mondays and public holidays/

# Have a food question? Just ask Máté! He is a food&travel journalist and the biggest foodie in Budapest (in many ways). He was born and raised in Hungary, but well-travelled, and still very passionate about Hungarian cuisine. Máté is the founder of the Fat Boy Foodies Walk, this is his love project next to the media. He is really like to eat and feed, and always smiling - but you will see that :)
# Zsuzsa is an official tour guide and a part-time lawyer, but so much more than that: the greatest fan of Budapest, who knows every corner of the city. She's very good at cooking and finding the best non-touristy places to eat. She’s also an unlimited source of the history of the city and an open book who just loves people. Because your vacation is her vacation.

This was a great tour with food stops of places that we would not have found otherwise. Mate really showed us the local cuisine and was very knowledgeable about the food and the history of the restaurants. He had a lot of information and a lot of recommendations for food in the city. I would highly recommend a tour with him if you’re looking to eat traditional Hungarian food!
