What you'll do
We'll meet 15 minutes prior to your 9:00 am start time and cover the bootleggers map; our great-grandads map for running white lightning into North Carolinas, operating and safety procedures.
At 9:00 am we will begin on a 1.5 hour journey through the beautiful countryside of East Tennessee making our way to heart of Gatlinburg and then into the Great Smoky Mountain National park. You'll enjoy some of the most breathtaking views of the smokies including Newfound Gap; which is located on the boarder of Tennessee and North Carolina. Once we've crossed into North Carolina it's a short drive to our great-grandads drop-off point which is now the Oconaluftee Visitors Center and formerly the site of a Cherokee village and Appalachian community. There's plenty of parking and restroom access as well as a gift shop to recoup.
You'll have an hour before we depart to enjoy the beautiful scenery, learn about the history and folklore of the Smoky Mountains and Appalachian community, walk through the historic farm and have a greater understanding of what it was like to live during that time. Best of all (if we're lucky) we may even get to see some elk! Due to COVID-19 precautions, this is a digitally guided tour.
Other things to note
Please keep in mind that this is an outdoor guided experience where you will be exposed to nature. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

My name is Travis. My brother Nick and I have been riding all-terrain vehicles throughout our entire lives. From coast to coast, we have ridden in: snow, sand, mud, and rocks. Owning a business is tough, but you know what they say..."Work hard, play hard...we mean it!!" So when the works done there's nothing more fun and relaxing then jumping in a Cam Am Side-by-Side and heading into the Great Smoky Mountains. I've always enjoyed the outdoors and adrenaline sports, so combining these two is a dream come true!
Nick and I will provide you with the most unique prospective of the true Appalachian experience. We will educate you in the rich history of a bootleggers run through the Great Smoky Mountains. You will be provided a map passed down from our great-grandad used to run white lighting from one end of the county to the other into NC.

If you are interested in having an amazing time. Book this experience. My husband and I are in Tennessee for our Honeymoon. We both love to trail ride back home with our toys and thought this Can-Am experience would be amazing. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The tour was Amazing. It was just my husband and I, and our GPS. Which made me nervous at first riding through the mountains. However we didn’t lose our directions the entire time.

This is THE ONLY way to see the Smokies. Period. DO NOT drive through the mountains in your van - spend the money and do it right.
The self-guided tour was easy to follow, the views and experience was simply incredible. We brought noise canceling headphones which helped - especially since we had our 6 year olds. We dressed in layers, packed snacks and water as recommended. There are ample stops to take a break and a handful of restrooms along the way. Bring your USB cord, you’ll fill up that phone with amazing pictures!
The host answered my zillion questions in advance and gave awesome recommendations for the area.
Hands down the best Gatlinburg adventure. Get outta your van and see the Smokies!!

We had so much fun. The only issues we had was no one explained where and how to fill the gas tank but we easily looked it up and figured it out. The other was a couple of the stops were non existent. One took us to a church instead of an overlook. One of the pastors told us it happens all the time, but it was not that big of a deal for us. We just moved on. It is a beautiful drive and the can-am was a lot of fun
