What you'll do
We will depart Havana at 7:00 AM for Viñales. The option to pick you up from where you are staying is available as well, and recommended. Our first stop will be El Mirador Los Jazmines (The Jasmine Viewpoint), where you can also have breakfast. Afterwards, we will go into the town of Viñales. This is where the guided horseback tour will take place.
Our first stop on the horseback tour will be at a tobacco farm where the legendary Cuban cigars are grown. You will be given a cigar and detailed explanation of the tobacco plant from sowing until its harvest, production process, and varieties of tobacco. Here you will be able to view the harvest fields, drying houses.
After this, we will continue to the coffee farm with a very special and unique honey and rum (also for purchase here only). Similar to the first stop, you will receive an explanation about each of them from a local’s perspective.
Upon completion, we will continue our journey to the so-called "muro" (“wall” in English), a place where there is a reservoir of fresh water, where you will have the ability to swim if you wish.
Then we will continue to a natural and virgin cave. From here we will return back to Viñales for lunch comprised of a traditional Cuban meal.
Once lunch is over we will return to Havana. The pics I take will be given via email. This trip is much more enjoyable if you have company.
Other things to note
This is a Day Trip to Viñales, we depart at 7am, and head back in the afternoon.
You'll get the pics from the adventure once you get
This experience is ideal for group of families or friends, even for couples, you'll have more fun if you have company.

Hola! My name is Claudia, I am a former synchronized swimmer, dancer, and psychology student with a passion for photography.
For the past two years, I worked as a travel planner for a well-known travel agency here in Havana. In order to show you a true unfiltered version of life in this city I love so much, I decided to create this independent experience outside of the agency. Originally from the city of Santiago de Cuba, I have lived in Havana since the age of 12, and am very familiar with and willing to share all of the daily nuances that come with Havana life that your average travel agency might not provide. Furthermore, because I was raised in the countryside, I became well acquainted with horses.
I love photography, I can be your personal photographer and the perfect person to capture your experience of this beautiful city!

Where you'll be
We are visiting the Viñales Valley, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site. This valley is known for its vast cigar and coffee farms as well as its breathtaking scenery. This experience also includes a natural cave and swimming lake. This region contains farms with small structures to dry tobacco leaves, and to try the best coffee made Cuban style. Tobacco here is well renowned because of the strict traditional farming methods used here.

I had a magical time with the lovely and knowledgeable Claudia. To my fellow English speakers, let me assure you that there are Cuban's who claim to speak English, and then their are guides like Claudia who are black-belt proficient. She will understand all your American idioms, and anything else you throw at her. English proficiency is the only way to make a deep connection on a long excursion anywhere in Latin America, so save yourself a chance of disappointment and go with Claudia. About the trip, I can't really add anything to what the other reviewers said, except concur that it is a once in a lifetime experience. The horse riding was my personal favorite. The horse riding in Vinales has this magical, time machine quality where you are transported to a different century, riding through fields and streams, seeing farmers astride oxen, and passing among livestock and tobacco. The meal was also a highlight. Cuban food can always be hit-or-miss depending on your American expectations. The restaurant that Claudia has picked out was excellent, real Cubano food, that will appeal to everyone. So what are you waiting for? Book now! I can't wait to do it again, and hope to be back in Havana in April.

I had previously gone on a similar experience with Claudia, and enjoyed immensely. So I booked this experience for my parents who were visiting, and they enjoyed it greatly. They were more than satisfied with the many locations visited and also thought the food was amazing. This is what they had to say about Claudia:
"She is a nice, sweet, and easy going person that everyone can get along with."

An early start with Claudia and Yanni had us zooming out of Havana and we were on our way.
A nice coffee stop after an hour and then onto Viñales. A great trip to the cigar farms, caves and the town.
A lovely day and fantastic cigars.
Would highly recommend.
