What you'll do

The experience will be done in either portuguese or english. Send me a message to arrange a meeting point and starting time that suits us both. I can pick you up in Porto, Braga or Ponte de Lima.

PROGRAME

First I'll show you a lagoon at the border between Braga and Vila Real, in Cabril. This is one of the best kept treasures in Gerês. Hidden in a deep valley of the Toco River, this is a lake of crystal clear water, with greenish tones that enchant the eyes.

Then, we will proceed to, in a lot of the locals opinion, the best hidden gem of Parque do Gerês, a lagoon in Vilar de Veiga.
The Landeira stream is responsible for bathing this lagoon. This one has transparent and pure waters, which give a blue and greenish touch to the well.
To get there, you will enjoy incredible landscapes in the mountains of Gerês.

Finally, we will end the day at the Pedra Bela lookout, where the Caniçada reservoir, the rivers that wind the mountain, or Portela do Homem make up the landscape of this place, with an altitude of 800m.

Hello!
My name is Pedro, born and raised in Ponte de Lima.

Since my adolescence I am a lover of nature and animals. I have always loved exploring the surrounding countryside of where I live and discover special places that few know, mainly, lagoons, waterfalls and lookouts. In these discoveries, I traveled to spectacular trails and I was able to enjoy the best views and calm that the nature of Minho has to offer. Now, I want to share those special places, for me, with you!

I am also a student of Mechanical Engineering, a volunteer at ALAAR that is a shelter for abandoned animals and a member of InterUp, a youth association that promotes the integration and insertion of international students from Porto in Portuguese society.
Last year I had the opportunity to travel to 7 countries and in 2021 I will live 6 months in Macau.

Pedro is a very kind and calm person. He has a lot of knowledge about the area and he was also very flexible with our trip. He showed us another path as we did not need so much time at the first stop. The views, lagoons and the nature in general is amazing and was worth every step :) Keep it up, Pedro!

I went on this experience with my boyfriend and it became a highlight of our trip to Porto for both of us. Pedro was a very friendly host, it was easy to talk to him and discuss different things (or if you’re an introvert, it was comfortable to be silent:) ) He is a very thoughtful person and we both felt safe and very comfortable during our whole trip. We went for a swim in a couple of lagoons and even though the water was cold, it was a unique experience we wouldn’t find without having a guide. The trails were nice and not very hard, except for the first part, but if you don’t hike regularly, it will also be not very hard, we just made more stops to rest from walking. The scenery there is magical and felt like something taken out of a fairy tale. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I advise you to definitely go for it and spend a day in the park. Thank you Pedro for spending this day with us and being the best guide one could have there!

I did this trip with my brother during our late summer vacation. Pedro was very kind and showed us some very beautiful and hidden spots. I think in total we took around 25.000 steps so you should have a certain fitness level or just the willpower to see some truly amazing sites. In the end it was totally worth it and exactly what I hoped it would be.

The trip which I had experience with Pedro was very unique. Not only because he explained everything very deep ,while also I do had chance to meet with my fears when I do had occasion to jump to lagoon. Pedro offer me the safety. He do help me when I need a help with climbing. Thank you Pedro for waiting me, for be a very good tour men which do your job with love & passion. I would like to stay on lagoons a bit longer ,that was the only minus which I would like to mention, while after all everything was perfectly organized because bad wheater just came when we finish the trip. You show me very interested places. Which I would like to add as a photo in my review . Thank you for pick up me from train station . The price is very vorthy, I did research before and it was THE CHEAPEST option on Airbnb. I do not know how the other trips are, but I do not need. I had an amazing memory to spend with an amazing people who are very warm. Quality 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Price 10/10 Whether 10/10 Knowledge enough for me :) Thank you , and see you around the world :)

This is a fantastic hike off the beaten path! Communication with Pedro was excellent from the start, he genuinely cares that people have a great experience with him and makes sure they do. We had really interesting conversations while walking/relaxing in absolutely stunning settings. Nature and people at its best!

Pedro is someone who grew up in the area. Therefore he knows as much about traditional life in the north as about the city life in Porto, which is very important in order to understand what is so unique about the whole area. I recommend the tour to people who like nature and walking a lot. Pedro is a very flexible person and wants everybody to have a unique experience regardless of what it takes for you as a family/ group or single person to make it a memorable day! We where on the hike as a family and had a lot of fun. Even with small kids it will be possible to do the hike, but in that case I would suggest to stay at the first lagune, which is certainly a great experience on its one. Regardless of the ‘hike-level’ you choose make sure to bring good hiking shoes, swimming stuff, and if necessary a backpack for your baby, because using a baby stroller is not possible on the tour. Pedro would also take you to extreme hikes if you ask him to. We spent a whole day with him and would love to meet him again. He is a very sensitive, strong, and tolerant person. We all liked him a lot.
