About your host

I was born and raised in San Francisco, and co-founded Streets of San Francisco Bike Tours. Since 2011 I've been sharing my love of this city from the ground, on a bike. As I've traveled the globe over the years I have really come to appreciate the distinct personalities within the multitude of SF neighborhoods. I taught for years in the public schools, perform in SF Carnaval, lead surf camps…

What we’ll do

This four-hour bike tour is your introduction to the city’s colorful history and modern culture. There will be stops in its most vibrant neighborhoods, including the Mission, Castro, Haight-Ashbury, and Alamo Square. We'll discuss how San Francisco has been shaped by waves of settlers, from Spanish missionaries to Silicon Valley techies—each redefining the city in its own way. Join us as we pedal…

Where you'll be

We will start and finish in a local boutique neighborhood called Hayes Valley, in Central San Francisco. From there, we will explore the colorful neighborhoods of the city. Alamo Square, Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury, Lower Haight, Castro, and the Mission are where we will hang out, and where we go to play. You will not visit the Golden Gate Bridge during this experience.
