What you'll do
We will welcome you at our Winery in Pompeii, very close to the city centre, in order to show you our family vineyards, wine cellar and refining room, equipped with barrels and amphoras. You'll be the first to discover our new "made in amphora wine", just like ancient romans used to do.

I am passionate about wines and gastronomy. Foreign languages student at University, I'm passionate in different cultures and traditions. I've grown up in the Palomba family of Pompeii, which thaught me love for nature and animals. Thanks to my knowledge and love for this territory, I want to convey to my guests my same passions. I will personally guide them in the Tasting Pompeii Tour, to discover our wines and our food and wine tradition. You can also follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/boscodemedici_winery/
Where you'll be
We will start the tour inside our Winery, close to the Archeological Site of Pompeii. You'll be guided through our vineyards. Among the rows you will discover the history of the Vesuvius wine, and how the winemaking tradition has come to us. We'll be visiting a Necropoli of 79 AD, close to our property; a Bourbon water channel and, at the end, our wine cellar and refining room equipped with barrels and amphorae. Finally, in the dining room you will have a typucal products and wine tasting. You will taste our unique "Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio DOC", white and red, that comes from the myth that Christ, crying over Lucifer's fall from heaven, cried his tears on the Vesuvius lands and gave divine inspiration to the vines that grew there.
You will also taste a Red, typical Aglianico, and a White, typical Falanghina, and a Sparkling wine.
Combined with these wines we have structured a special 3-course menu, based on local and km0 products.
Finally, don't miss the opportunity to visit our farm and stables.

Nice experience but felt kind of rushed by the restaurant. The foods and wines were very nice and the restaurant accommodated for the fact I was vegan which was fab. The staff were friendly but this was more of a lunch with a few wines than a wine tasting experience and tour.

We had the chance to do the tour alone my wife and me.
Like all the other comments said, everything was perfect. Our host was really nice and the tour was really informative.
We could tried 4 wines and had a nice 3 courses lunch (bruschetta, antipasti, pasta and dessert).
If you interested in italian wine, especially made in biodynamic agriculture, and have a nice moment, I would totally recommend.

The Bosco dei Medici Winery is a wonderful location with scenic views, friendly staff, and decent local wines. The winery is about a 45-60min walk from Pompei Scavi station or a 20-25€ taxi ride (you can find taxis directly outside the station).
The structure of this experience is as follows: 1) tour of the grounds in a golf cart, explanation of the experimental processes and history of the land; 2) Bubbly in the barreling room; 3) lunch in their restaurant with 3 wines, a personal charcuterie, pasta, dessert, espresso and limoncello.
That being said, this is not the typical wine tasting where you interact significantly with the host and try several wines. I would say this is more like a lunch at a winery with a few tasting options. I think this experience is better suited for groups of 2-6 people, as I was alone and there wasn’t a lot of social interaction. The wines are poured the second you sit down in the dining room and you drink them at your own pace. I asked for more of the wine(s) I liked (at no extra cost) as they don’t offer you additional pours during the rounds. The food was good and the servers are very competent, but again, not a traditional wine tasting. Overall, I would go again knowing the set up as the experience was nice and an amazing deal.
