What you'll do

The meeting point is in Lucca, at the Foro Boario. Once there you'll be introduced to the activiy before letting your stuff to our van, than the adventure can start. Wear lifejacket and jump on the supboard, we will be on your side crossing the countryside surrounding Lucca, known as the Lucchesia area and lined with villas, wineries and scene-stealing landscapes, this region is rooted in its ties to the Serchio river. We will tell you a lot of stories, showing you hidden corners of this area, accessible only by water. On the half way we will stop for a snack, fruits and dry fruit, water.
All along the trip you'll be paddling slightly pushed by the river, watching fishes and birds. Along the banks of the river natural areas we will find small villages, ancient and newer bridges, some villas and castles. The 7 km paddling downstream are easy for anyone, beginners or expert, the river from Lucca will bring you slowly crossing the area of Lucca and the close villages untile the arrival point of Ponte San Pietro,.

The activity is easy and fun for all, beginners, intermediates and expert paddlers. All levels welcome.

I'm Tommaso, lifeguard and International Surfing Association instructor since 2012. I run the SUP school Toscanasup, working in Tuscany in sea, rivers and lakes. Arianna, gives me a hand to give you a safe and funny experience, both we are SUP coach and lifeguard.
I know every corner of my region, where I have spent many years paddling everywhere. I love Tuscany and paddlebpoarding, and is great to share knowledge and passion with visitors coming from abroad.
I work in Adaptive Surfing with people with disabilities within the project Surf 4 All, I'm also coach of Italy Adaptive Surfing Team.

Where you'll be

Lucca’s city area and Foro Boario where the tour starts, than we will cross the River Park all along the city and after in the countryside we will paddle for about 4 km along the Aqueduct of Lorenzo Nottolini, a 19th century water supply source styled like a Roman aqueduct. The tour will end at the Fort of San Paolino looms imposingly over the town of Ripafratta
