What you'll do

We will visit the coffee farm. Our guests will be able to pick coffee from the plant, then we will see the post harvest (removing the pulp, fermentation, drying and washing), after the farm we will head to our roasting premises where we will see the milling and roasting. Our guests will roast coffee alongside the guide and then we will grind it, brew it and taste it. We will taste different coffees and different brewing methods.

It is a whole experience from the seed to the cup.
Other things to note
Bring sunscreen, mosquito repellent, a camera , comfortable clothes and good shoes for trekking. You could get messy picking coffee.

We are a Colombian coffee company with more than 3 years of experience. We produce, nourish and roast coffee from the seed to the cup in a socially and environmentally friendly process.

At Urbania Cafe we firmly believe that growers’ wellbeing is crucial, that is why we work with farmers that have been war victims or that are or have been in a position of vulnerability.

We work with them from the seed to the harvest and post harvest. We empower growers through teamwork and aim to produce the best quality coffee in Colombia. By improving their quality we are able to pay them a better price.

This was a great experience! Not far from Medellin and easy to get to. The instructions provided after booking were helpful to finding the spot. We really enjoyed the thorough tour and tastings. Damian did a great job of connecting with us. We really enjoyed getting to know him and he made us feel very welcomed.

This was an awesome experience. We really got to learn a lot about the coffee producing, harvesting and roasting process. We were well catered too and gained a newfound appreciation for all things coffee!

This was a very informative experience. I had visited coffee fincas in Colombia and other countries and I still learned a lot about the different varieties of plants, the processing and the roasting and preparation processes, as well as the social enterprise component of Urbania's mission.

Don't think twice and book this experience! Everything about it is special, from the location, to the people, to the love that the entire staff exudes for what they do. I can't recommend it enough - our group had and absolute blast with Damian and walked away with deep appreciation and increased respect for coffee and the industry as a whole. We were all beyond pleased with this experience!

Damion was a very knowledgeable and friendly host. He asked our group, throughout the experience, if we had any questions. We enjoyed learning about the process of coffee, from bean to brewing. We were given directions in Spanish and English for our taxi drivers. After getting off of the metro, four taxi drivers did not know of the address, even after giving the provided address, given to us by Urbania. We looked on google maps and it indicated that the farm was closed. We were not notified of this. The other couple that joined us was late, due to the same complications. Damian, our host, told us that the roasting part of the farm was in a different location. Our group got in a Didi, provided by Urbania. We were driving through heavy traffic to this location. We were stuck in traffic going from the farm to the second location. This made the experience almost two hours longer. When leaving well after 7:00, we were in traffic again. Although we tasted many delicious coffees, we had not eaten since noon, due to the undisclosed changes and the traffic.
