What you'll do

A local point of view on Montréal's Gay Village

Our small group will meet up our favourite cafe to start and then head out to explore the neighbourhood. This walk is a blend of campy highlights and historical anecdotes that help illuminate the community and our struggle for our health, rights and recognition. This experience is great for couples and solo travellers.

We love to help reveal the hidden history on our streets. Last year we welcomed hundreds people from around the world to join me and learn more about the LGBTQ2S community in Montréal and Canada, we can't wait to meet more of you!

We can also hit up the LGBTQ shops, sex stores and clothing places in the Village.

We can also talk about where to shop, party and have fun here. No topic is off limits. I'm here to explain and help shop with queer and straight folks alike.

Where you'll be

We'll be wandering the entire Village ... stopping in at all the landmarks in one of the worlds largest LGBTQ neighbourhoods. I'll point out the best places for finding drag queens and show you which spots you should hit up for what kind of crowd. We're going to serve up all the tea on the best and worst our little homo hamlet has to offer!

My spouse and I really appreciated the depth of the history covered in the tour, as well as Ian's intersectionality, and their obvious energy around the material they were covering. The tour was fun, interesting, and helped us connect with the Gay Village in a more nuanced and meaningful way. We'd highly recommend it!

I would highly recommend the tour. Learning about the history of the gay community that was built in Montreal provides a unique perspective of the city.

Highly recommended! Ian brings in a lot of cultural and historical context to the Village, and he’s warm and funny too! If you’re interested in a low-key, but very educational walking tour, this is it.

Amazing few hours spent with Ian who made us feel welcome and at ease in his neighbourhood from the outset. He is impeccably well informed & open to any questions you may have. Wouldn’t miss this tour on a trip to Montréal.
