What you'll do

This is about sailing, food and culture in a fun and informative way!

We will be sailing, eating, discovering a new Lisbon, and connect with amazing locals: Miguel the Chef and skipper, Natacha fisherwoman/skipper, and Silvia anthropologist and gastronomic host!

Our boat will cast off from Doca de Alcantara, a privileged area to explore some of the most famous and busy historical monuments, from the quietness of the river (Belem Tower, etc.). It's an opportunity to learn about some historical facts, curiosities but also to relax and see Lisbon from a unique perspective.

Once our skipper changes our direction, you will be amazed by the diversity of the landscape. On the opposite margin, you will now see the old stores where Porto wine and dried codfish were kept, lots of street art, secret restaurants, and Almada city.

We will then search for a quiet place to anchor, to refresh our feet on the water, and to gather ourselves around the table, tasting a unique tasting created by Chef Miguel, exclusively to this trip with a fresh, unique, and rare Portuguese wine, chosen by me and Natacha!

Relax and enjoy the view while we approach our final destination. Depending on the hour booked, this is also the moment to enjoy the sunset!

Every gastronomic tradition can become a unique travel experience!

I was born in Lisbon, Alfama. At 24 years old I started to live abroad & never stopped traveling again. But I always come back to Lisbon.

I love to travel, to meet people, to be surprised. Art is very important (cinema, dance, photography) but also, going out, reading, cooking, eating, & drinking w/ friends & guests!

Lived in France, Morocco & Turkey.

Where you'll be

We will start in Doca de Alcantara and depending on the winds the directions can be slightly different, but we will be sailing close to both of Tejo margins, facing places like Terreiro do Paço, Panteon, Ginjal, Belém, Padrão dos Descobrimentos but also some off the beaten landscapes like old stores of Porto Wine and codfish, hidden fortress and restaurants and walls full of street art.

A fantastic, relaxing experience! This is NOT a “booze cruise” - be prepared to see with sights, learn about the culture, eat a great meal, take great pictures, and sip on local wine. One of the top highlights of our 2 week trip.

This Boat trip is a must when you’re in Lisbon! The staff, route and the food and drinks are amazing. The staff told us everything about the Monuments that are spreaded throughout Lisbon. Thank you so much for having me and my friends!!

A lovely way to get to know the lay of the land in Lisbon from the river with beautiful views, tasty food and wine, and a casual but informative overview of the history and culture. Would recommend especially for first-time visitors.

Just book, you won’t regret it! This was one of the highlights of our trip. The sunset was stunning, the boat was comfortable, the host was very accommodating and the food was delicious!

Nous avons fait l’excursion en anglais alors que nous étions françaises. Très agréable, les explications étaient très instructives, fourniture de couvertures quand il a vraiment fait froid. Je recommande cette expérience !!!

Unfortunately not a 5-star experience for us. We did not get Silvia as a host, and perhaps the host we did get was inexperienced. We've been on numerous 5-star experiences and 90% of it seems to come down to how agile the host is in connecting with the group and making it memorable. In our case, we got a 3-star experience -- an average boat ride. Chef Miguel was not very involved either for some reason. I wish I got the experience described in the other reviews. My advice: Unless you get the dream team of Miguel + Silvia mentioned in all those rave reviews, you may be disappointed.
