What you'll do

As you pull onto the farm you will be wowed by the panoramic view of the ocean, the Hamakua Coast and the rows of tea fields below. We will walk the property learning about various tropical fruits, flowers, botanicals, and tea. This is an opportunity to experience the sights and scents of a working tea farm up close and photos are encouraged. After our walk we will relax on our lanai overlooking the ocean, to taste a selection of teas. Guests will be educated on the types of tea, the processes used to create them and utilize all their senses to experience them. Each guest is provided a traditional ceramic tasting cup to taste the teas, and is included as a take home gift.

I have worn many hats in the tea industry for over 17 years. My passion for tea lead me to traveling around the world to directly source tea from tea farmers. I opened a tea business that had a tea cafe, retail tea shop, tea classes, tea tastings, and a restaurant that hosted full afternoon tea and tea events. I am very grateful to now call the Big Island my home and feel very Blessed to share this piece of paradise we call Ancient Leaf Tea with our guests. It continues to be an amazing journey and I happily and humbly wear the hat of tea farm owner. I look forward to introducing you to all the beauty, magic, and clean pure Hawaiian grown teas that our farm has to offer. Aloha!

Our tour and tasting with Susan was the highlight of our trip, bar none! The location was breathtaking, we learned so much about the process of growing and processing tea as well as Hawaiian agriculture, and the tasting was just a dream. Susan's passion for tea is so evident. If you have the opportunity to book this tour, I highly recommend that you do. You certainly won't regret it! We even ended up recommending it to people we met while on our trip it was that fantastic. Also, not to worry if it's hot, Susan provided UV protection umbrellas that instantly offered relief and that I will be promptly purchasing myself.

Absolutely incredible! If you’re on the fence- just book it!! Phenomenal host, informative tour, and an absolutely breathtaking location. Even if you know nothing about tea, Susan will make sure you feel right at home. Her story and farm are so inspiring and this tour was quite possibly the best part of our trip.

Susan was very warm & welcoming, her years of experience really shines through her informative tour. In one hour and a half, Susan covers all of your senses during this tour, the smell of the tea, the flowers, the taste, and the jaw dropping Hamakua view. It was so much fun to learn how she takes care of her land from the soil up. Susan carefully takes care of her tea plants & you can taste her passion & hard work through every sip of her quality tea. 100% recommend this tour
