What you'll do

Cat is international award-winning variety performer Vixen DeVille with 15 years experience in Fire Eating and Flame Manipulation. At the historic Zephyr Theatre on famous Melrose Ave she will take you through the theory and safety precautions behind fire eating and body burning. We'll then actually light up the torches and explore this performance art fully with hand transfers, tongue transfers and of course, extinguishing the flame with your mouth.

This is NOT an illusion! By the end of the session you'll be fire eating and body burning like a pro.

Other things to note:
Wear close-fitting clothes, sleeveless is ideal and either leggings or shorts. Flat shoes, no heels. Avoid wearing lipstick or body moisturizer & avoid use of hairspray. Long hair should be tied back.

This experience is available for the single traveller but also ideal to book as a private event for a group experience - please contact me for more availability if your preferred date and time isn't currently listed.

I am an award-winning burlesque & variety performer.

I first learnt this skill back in 2006 whilst working with a magician in London. I was amazed at how simple this very impressive skill was, and have since been exploring various techniques, and have added fire flow, fire breathing and fire bubbles to my repertoire.

Since moving to LA in 2012 I have performed on TV's "Masters Of Illusion", CBS This Morning and have toured my solo show all over the US, teaching audience members to eat fire during the show!

I am passionate about teaching seemingly unavailable skills to those who wish to learn, the human body is amazing!

Where you'll be

The Zephyr Theatre, originally called the Horseshoe Stage, opened on January 5th, 1956 at a time when intimate performance bases were scarce. It has been a working stage ever since, hosting plays, musicals, readings, workshops, live comedy, and performance based classes. For more than 50 years, the Zephyr has been a mainstay of the Los Angeles theater scene and has hosted writers and performers at every level of achievement.

A highly recommended experience, if you're having doubts, do it! It's great fun and only in LA could you learn to eat fire with an enthusiastic and seasoned professional like Cat!

Yes, within 70 minutes, we really were eating fire. I thought I would chicken out but Cat was great at teaching, helping us feel safe and building up to the big challenge.

Cat was fantastic conversation and helped everyone feel comfortable with handling fire. I may have found a new passion because of her! Will definitely be back for another session! Thanks Cat!!

This was an absolutely fascinating experience! Cat taught us much more than we had anticipated ever learning to do. She is an incredible, patient and nerve-calming teacher for something we were equally excited and nervous to do! Loved it!

It was so much fun!!! If you are thinking of chickening out, just do it! I promise you it’s not as bad as it seems and the time blows by from all the fun. Cat is a great host and is a very personable woman with lots of energy. She makes you feel safe and it seems like you’re just hanging out playing with fire. Highly suggest and will be doing again!

Out of my whole week in LA, THIS is the thing I always return to as a point of conversation with people who asked me how my trip was. I did this with my friend and we both LOVED it even tho I had to talk my friend into doing it. No regrets on her part tho. The host carefully prepared us to actually eat fire by having us perform tricks that help you get familiar with the flame and touching it. We ate fire multiple times, and never got burned. Burns eating fire = 0. Burns eating pizza/soup = yikes... Please please please, do this!
