What you'll do

A full immersion in the highest active volcano in Europe, which for millennia has fascinated philosophers, artists, scientists and travelers from all over the world.
During the experience, crossing Etna villages with their characteristic black "basalt" color and the luxuriant Etna countryside, we will reach the starting point of our trekking route. It will be surprising to walk through dense forests of birch, pine or beech, and then suddenly cross what the locals know as "Sciara", the desolately fascinating volcanic desert. We will admire all the beauty and contradictions of this ever-changing volcano: between extinct craters, now barren and now luxuriant landscapes, with a "heroic" flora that has adapted to extreme conditions.
During the 4h trekking route, we will discover one of the many lava flow tunnels and we will have a picnic in the woods during which I will offer you a glass of Etna wine.
It will be an authentic experience, during which I will tell you about our "Muntagna", from the perspective of those who have always lived it from its slopes. I will tell you about geological history, flora and fauna. I will also tell you about my land from a historical, anthropological, linguistic and enogastronomic point of view.
But above all I will try to convey the visceral bond that has existed for three millennia between the volcanic earth and its people

I am an authorized Tour Leader and Environmental Guide Hiker associated with Aigae, passionate about open air activities. I believe in the potential of slow, sustainable, experiential and enogastronomic tourism. I attended the first level course for sommeliers organized by the AIS (Italian Sommelier Association).
Alive, I was born and raised on the slopes of Etna and for years I have accompanied tourists and friends to discover this volcano.
My mission is to transmit the love for my land through an authentic and as personalized experience as possible.
During the experience I will try to use a communicative and interdisciplinary approach, also sharing my knowledge about Sicily in the linguistic, food and wine and popular traditions.
The experience is aimed at everyone. Groups of max 6 pax
