My husband and I have lived on a coffee farm for over 20 years where we have raised our 3 children. He has a passion for coffee business which he learnt from his late father . I am passionate about local tourism, so how best to combine the two than to host coffee lovers from all over the world to experience one of Kenya's best exports.

Where you'll be

We'll go on an excursion of Mbumi Coffee Estate, starting from the nursery to give an in-depth understanding of the coffee maturing stages. Then we'll show you how our coffee cherries are picked, washed, dried and milled. You will roast your own coffee and carry it you. You are welcome to purchase our coffee as well. Afterwards, you'll be able to enjoy a cup of home made coffee at our rooftop sitting area with picturesque views of the farm.

We really enjoyed this coffee farm tour and roasting experience with David and Susan. As a lover of craft coffee, it was very cool to see the process in person, from seed to roast. David had a ton of knowledge about every step of the process. We also got a nice opportunity to sit with Susan on the roof and chat for a while. We enjoyed that more casual aspect, beyond the tour. I’d highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning where their high quality coffee comes from!

What a great way to spend the afternoon! We loved the tour of the beautiful farm and learning about the production of coffee. Our guide and Susan were both very knowledgeable and welcoming. It was also very fun to roast our own coffee and take it home as a souvenir- we’re having some with breakfast today!
