What you'll do

I will guide you on a cycle ride around the beautiful coastal surroundings of Morwenstow, N. Cornwall. This area has a multitude of really incredible places which we will visit on our journey, all linked together on sleepy country lanes with very little traffic. This area is extremely beautiful but the terrain can be quite hilly, and this is where the electric bicycles come into their own. With an electric motor assisting while you pedal, we will be able to explore the area in maximum comfort, giving you more energy to take in the surroundings!

At the meeting point I will go through what we will be doing and get you sorted with an electric bike and helmet. You'll have plenty of time to get familiar with the bike and give it a test run, and when you are comfortable with everything we will begin our adventure, taking us to some of the South west's most remote, wild and spectacular places. Our route will last 2.5-3 hours and will take us on some lovely roads out to the cliffs, with a tea rooms (famed for it's cream teas!) and local pub along the way if you fancy a refreshment. To get access to some of the most interesting places (for example a shipwreck-wood cabin built into the cliff face in the 1800's) we will park the bikes and go on foot for 15 minutes, so please bring shoes you are comfortable walking in too.

Other things to note
This is a guided tour, but if you prefer to just take the bikes out on your own then a self-guided tour can be arranged on request - just let me know.

I will provide helmets. Please bring clothing appropriate for the weather and shoes you are comfortable walking short distances in.

Where you'll be

We will be exploring the remote coastal parishes of North Cornwall and Devon which boast some of the country's most wild and spectacular scenery. Thankfully it's still way off the beaten track due to it's remoteness and inaccessibility. However this remoteness comes at a price, as unfortunately the meeting point is near impossible to reach without a car, so please don't book this tour unless you have your own transport.

David was welcoming from the very first moment of the experience, with a natural and easy manner which made us feel relaxed and ready to get going. The weather wasn't great but David made sure we were adequately kitted out and able to get the most out of the experience. He is an interesting and open person who shared numerous stories about both himself and the area which made the experience enjoyable and interesting. We would wholeheartedly recommend David to anyone looking to explore a side of Cornwall you might not otherwise discover. Thank you!

Saw places we wouldn't have seen on our own and got to use electric bikes. Host was very knowledgeable and although pouring with rain we still enjoyed it.

We had a great afternoon cycling with David. He guided us down quiet country roads to places we would never have seen without his knowledge. The bikes themselves were great too! We would love to come back and do it again and would definitely recommend his experience!

We highly recommend you take advantage of this wonderful experience. I cannot think of a better way to spend an afternoon in Cornwall. We took routes and learnt about local history and some of the characters that still live in this beautiful part of the world that we could never have found on our own. From shipwrecks to lookout points in the cliffs and the historical figures that connect them right through to the people we would stop to say hello to, David’s depth of knowledge of this unique part of North Cornwall is vast and all delivered with charm, wit, humour and pride in the land he grew up in. if you are interested in getting out of your car and discovering the real North Cornwall then this is the absolute best possible way to do that. We genuinely could not think of a better way to have spent an afternoon.
